As far as i remeber you have to put the mask in the alphachannel or apply a mask object to the layer - adding a mask layer is the little round whie icon in the layer window - hope it makes some kind of sense :-)

Hmmm...bryce can do abstracts the way I like them ...and MANY others too ...that no one other app can do ...i've never ssen so bright reflections and colours as in bryce ...i will NEVER abandon Bryce ...although i ocasionally do work in other apps ...don't know if it should go open source or not ...but at least DAZ could tell us what their plans is

The objects has to be either Terrains or Lattice ...OR from 6.0 - a boolean group converted to mesh. As rj001 mentions the manual says something about it (i dont read them anyways :-)) - but its very important how you create your boolean group, furthermore ...the meshfunction in Bryce isn't that good, so you have to make a lot of smoothing or subdividing in the other app

calyxa - thats not entirely true - when you render to disk you have the ability to change DPI - furthermore you can make change the number of pixels to larger values than in Document Setup

skiwillgee - i've got a company to ptiny a poster for me in A1 - resolution was 3307 *2339 in 150 dpi (they even say 100 is suitable) - the reaseon it produces a very very nice result is that you will look at a size A1 or bigger at a distance, which means you won't see the pixelisation very much - and i must say that even close up it looks fantastic

If you have a dual or quad core machine it DO matter that you are using 5.5 - Bryce 6.1 is able to use all the core's your machine has to offer :-)

I can recommend an app. called Second Copy as backup software - it's farly cheap and very easy to use. It doesn't do any fancy things as compressing backups and stuff like that but i does the job of taking the "Second Copy". onto a second hard drive - it has saved my wifes work for 5 years ones. Furthermore it backs up what you evt. delete to another directory in as many versions as you like, which you then in time cán delete if you no longer needs it
