like you Aegy, more than 15years in Fine Art School, archeology and History of Art has followed lol So i've eated a lot of compo theory ;o) lol it was hard sometimes lol
It's really a good idea to create this tuto !!! One thing you should consider is to explain pro and cons of a compo, and explain when to use one or another because of the message you would like to give in your pic ...
May be the compo you can do with or without colours too !

interesting question ... here is my workflow :
- developing films (40min)
- scanning them 4000dpi 14bits 100% on the coolscan 5 (35min)
- i put them in a folder (tiff format) and open them one by one (my films are safely in a special crystal sheet, protected from dust)
- keep or trash + crop correctly (to erase the black border of the film)
- level, contrast, unsharp mask (1,8 - 90%, this is an average)
- save the tiff, create a little one (750 x ??? + 15px as black border) as jpg saved in an under-folder named 'web'
- i zip my tiff's (because of 130Mo each file !)
- go to sleep ;o)
I limit my postwork to what i could do in a blackroom (+- 10min by pic) !

Hey Joe,
i think Aegy as said everything ! He is right.
I'm using too some expensive lens (Leica Summicron, elmarit, etc.. about 1000$-3000$), and i work only on the street, no studio.
Like Aegy, i know what my lenses can do, and i want it, not less. So a filter to protect is always something i don't want, because i don't what will be the exact result.
The polarizing filter is different, but you will pay the quality (different because he is here to add an effect, not the UV)
A very good solution is the hood ! Never forget it ! It adds protection & contrast !

I'm really stressed, it's a big work to exhib 15 pictures.
A total of 15 pictures, 30x45cm (12"x18")+ framing (one pic is 60x80cm + frame), all inkjet but most from a classic negative film. I must sell two pics to recover my investment lolllll
I will post pics of opening in the forum ;o)
