Be aware that P6 doesn't seem to require you to copy the !DAZ folder to your main runtime like P5 did.
Thread: OK so what is the deal with Poser 6 to Vue 5 import? | Forum: Vue
I believe if you have P5 installed, then Vue will import a P6 file using only the features supported under P5. Vue is using P5 as its interface to open the file. It doesn't know how to talk directly to P6 yet. Vue will release a patch for Vue 5 to let you open P6 files directly but no timetable has been announced. Since P6 doesn't appear to have made drastic changes to the structure of a Poser file, I'm hopeful it will be quick.

Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to order to box after all... Maybe they'll have the patch ready by the time my copy gets here.

e-on is working on an update to import P6 scenes into Vue. No word on ETA yet, though. EDIT: I think you need Mover or the Pro or Infinite versions to use features like dynamic hair and clothing.

Thread: Change in TOS...New Child Image Guidelines | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
has anyone ever given a moment's thought to the fact that this may not be a decision on the part of the Mods, owners, etc? It may be a dictat from their legal department. The lawyers have to keep an eye on current cases, rulings (establishing precedent, etc), and if a case went a certain way, then the lawyers would advise their clients ('rosity), that they are in an exposed or actionable position, and they'd better cover their buns (whether under 18 or not..;) by modifying the TOS accordingly. I have no doubt that lawyers were deeply involved in the the new TOS.

"I'm not a Rendo advocate either, but this is THEIR site and they don't owe any single one of us squat", true but we don't owe them our commerce either. It's a two way street.

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time getting too upset over a "perv" getting his jollies from a computer generated image of a person who doesn't really exist, regardless of the context. There is an easily discerned distinction between pedophiles stalking real children in a public place and someone getting over-stimulated by a fake image on the internet.

Well, to be somewhat of a devil's advocate, policies like this don't happen in a vacuum. All it takes is one allegation of "kiddie porn" from the wrong person and R'Osity could find itself in a world of hurt, legally speaking. I don't like this policy, either, but in the current cultural climate, they may felt they had no choice.

Thread: My Millenium 2 Dragon upgrade won't work. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try closing Poser, going into the Mil Dragon 2 character library and deleting the RSR file that goes with the CR2 file that you were trying to load. Then restart Poser and try again.

P4 MATs still use BUM files for bump maps. PP MATs use JPGS, so you should use PP files with P5
Thread: Boobs in the thumb get you hits...but not necessarily any comments. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't think you want comments from the 13-year-olds who are giving your image all those hits, unless you like reading 75 repetitions of "Dewd...tits...heh, heh, cool."
