Thread: PSD to wordpress | Forum: Photoshop
@adlena
welcome to the forum ? Since you are not the original poster of the thread maybe if you are really interested in the "shairing!!@@##" - you could offer insight.
otherwise i would recommend this thing called "google" - just enter the search criteria "PSD to Wordpress" (you'll be amazed at the number of hits you'll get).
as i stated in my reply, the best way to learn is to dismantle an existing Wordpress template. The design work in PS is as straightforward as you can get - the rest is up to the "learnie"

making themes is pretty straight forward as to making website layouts... meaning it is the same method of design...
i think with wordpress themes, (after you are done with the design PSD) you need to create a static HTML+CSS template of each page... This is to help with the "development" process. Creating an HTML file for every template, allows you to test it across all browsers, (validating both HTML and CSS markups) then all you need to do is cut & paste the WordPress code. As to the code used to display the Wordpress theme, you will need to "deconstruct" the WordPress default theme and see how it is structured.

there are progs out there (like Sitegrinder - PSD to WORDPRESS) to make life easier (but at a cost!)

Combine Shapes
Subtract Shapes
Intersect Shape Areas
Exclude Overlapping Shapes
often it defaults to the laast one used...

I've always just sliced up the design by hand with the "slice" tool.
i know there are apps like SiteGrinder that convert your PSD to HTML.
are you looking to make themes?

I've used Inkscape for a little while while waiting to afford CS5 (after switching OS from Win to Mac @ home) - not the best but it got some projects done on time to help raise the monies needed...

@PAnn,
you mentioned multply and lighten... instead of using colour modes, play around with the dodge and burn tool (google it and you'll find some good examples and explainations) and i think you'll get some good results.

Thread: how can I make blood brush work look more realistic | Forum: Photoshop
do you mean something like a puddle of blood or trail of blood spatters?? - like Quest said, it's a little easier to give you a good answer if you can show us what you are attempting to do...

if you want to make a border out of a picture (or a specific layer) you can do any of the suggestions above (i usually just make the shape white) and place it under the layer i want to show as the border. Move to the layer palette and hold down the ALT key with the cursor "between" the two layers and you should see an icon that looks like a half filled circle. the one layer should indent in the layers palette and theone layer should transform into the shape you made for the border.

i'd work both ideas in to the peice... use the multiple images with motion blur to blend them in place...

Thread: PHOTOSHOP FILES | Forum: Photoshop
EPS is an Encapsulated Post Script file that is pretty much associated with vector programs more than Photoshop.
you CAN open the file in photoshop if you wanted, (i usually just drag the EPS icon over my PS icon on the dock) you get a prompt asking a few things (don't have a screen grab to toss up...) but what you should know is the most important thing to consider is the size. Vector objects are scalable, and this means that you can resize them at your pleasure (make them smaller and then enlarge them) without lose quality. But when you open a vector file in Photoshop, the vector image will be turned into a raster image. So you won’t be able to resize them in according with your needs – you can make it smaller, but if you try to enlarge it the result won’t be so good…
This is why I suggest you to choose a very large size and then make them into a "smart object" - Smart Objects will retain the ability to scale (up AND down) without losing quality!
(this is mostly babbling information - useful to some-ignored by others)

Thread: Desactivate Photoshop cs6 | Forum: Photoshop
they alow you to have it on two systems like if you have a laptop at the office and on your tower at home. it's just that you should not be using both systems at the same time.
but like lou said, it's always better to have it deactivated inorder to keep your records straight with Adobe...
