I doubt a bug report will help....
I installed windows XP 32-bit in a dual boot on my comp.... and the same problems are happening in it.....
So that rules out it being a windows 7 problem, & a poser install problem....
there's an update for the bios on my motherboards site, cant hurt to try that... if that fails, then i guess i will try daz studio shudders for my rendering needs...

Still the same, but i can see the black squares reveal in realtime now.... whenever the "being processed" bucket block is over a figure there is a delay as other buckets carry on to render the background, and while all thats happening all the cores are usually between 1 - 15%
When all the buckets are rendering background the cpu shoots right up, hits a figure and back down :|

So i got poser 8 and the problem still remains..... though the rendering speeds are slightly better...
So i spent most of this night experimenting, Loaded up a standard V4 with no morphs injected, and started applying the skin materials then rendering and seeing what happened... what i discovered was most were rendering fine, poser using pretty much all CPU usage... but some were not, the second the render hit the V4 the cpu useage dropped like a brick off the eiffle tower.
But the thing is the ones that are killing the cpu usage have worked perfectly in the past (though i was using winxp 32-bit then), i checked their texture resolutions and theres nothing out of the ordinary....
Also i have noticed another thing, in the scene im working on i have the figure "night world fallen" when i render it alone in a new scene, no problems whatsoever, but in my scene when the render hits him my cpu usage drops.... and even once or twice the problem V4 textures have rendered fine...
There is no common problem relating all this and its affecting all posers (7, pro & 8)
god my head hurts :(
again anyone got any ideas to what could be causing pretty much all modern versions of poser to mock me ? :(

That will be yet another version of poser to sit on my hard drive along with 6, 7 & pro
i was doing some testing and i loaded up a scene i had created a while back and it seemed to render perfectly, i almost cryed when i seen all 4 cores working at 100% :crying:
So i tried another scene which i had been messing around with and for the most part it was rendering ok (until i got about halfway through rendering then it dropped to 50% CPU usuage then decided to spaz out going between 1% & 50%) It seems rather strange that the main scene im working on at the moment is causing poser to spaz out and not want to use the CPU
Whats poser 8 like for rendering large scenes anyways ? i have a few ideas for large scenes in my head and the main reason i installed win 7 64-bit was so i could use the large memory and avoid out of memory errors
Quote - You really want it to use 100%???

Damn right i do..... i dont have any other programs which use all 4 cores to their max, i want to make my CPU work for its money

Can you browse through the game cd's & DVD's in windows explorer ? If you can, then just open the autorun text file and see what file should be loaded on disk insertion and manually run the file !

Make a special version of the movie with a clear to see dot in the center of the movie, that will stop the motion sickness (apparently) as it will give the eyes something static to focus on.....
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness#Simulation_sickness
That link will inform you about what causes motion sickness !

i was only messing with you !!!! ;)
It is true that many modders have ripped off poser stuff... i myself am responsible for ending 2 body mods, who attempted to rip off victoria 3 and aiko 3 meshes..... :) in a past life i was a morrowind and oblivion modder, and possibly the most hated person with the bethesda devs and admins !!! :D (i have lost track of the amount of times i have been banned from the official elderscrolls forums :D)
i will say this, i wouldnt hold your breath on getting persmission from many of the people who sell stuff here, i doubt they will want derivitave copies of their works given away for free.... from what i have gathered from lurking here, the poser comunity is more protective of their works than the elderscrolls comunity..... but you never know you might get lucky..... techically it would be an interesting advertising feature for poser items......

just rip off the clothing you want, thats what most elderscrolls modders do !!!! ;) I've seen many a poser outfit, body and hair converted illegally to morrowind and oblivion.... is asking now a new trend for ES modders ???? ;)

Thread: OT - Recommendations for web hosting service | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Lunarpages is good for small sites (probably even normal sized sites), i used to be hosted with them (i stopped hosting with them because i dont have the time to run and maintain a popular site anymore :( ) for the downloads part of my old site, when you have hundreds to thousands of site visitors visiting your site at the same time lunarpages tends to crap out royally..... they are overselling their servers, i have been woken up a few times by a lunarpages tech person on the phone (usually someone who can barely speak english) because of high server usage, because i had a semi popular site....
Most webhosts offer high storage and bandwidth, at low, low prices... these are companys who are overselling their servers, i.e: they are hoping you and others on the same server wont be using the max of what their hosting packages offer ! If you are intending to have a "popular" site then you have to take into account CPU and memory usage as well, which is something most webhosts dont mention (and tend to limit badly because their servers are oversold !!!
With my old site i had to get a second webhost who didnt oversell his server so i could shunt the heavily visited parts of my old site to it.... a quality webhost costs more, but the server will cope with high server usage....
The cheap webhosts like just about everyone mentioned in this thread are good for small sites, or sites that are just starting out.... but if the site grows in popularity be prepared for a lot of expense in having to find a decent host which doesnt oversell their servers, or maybe eventually have to get a dedicated server !

The 430watt psu is no where near the psu that you need.....
using a psu calculator and the rough specs you gave i calculated your wattage requirements to be around 516watts.... so you would need a 550 - 600 watt psu.....
As for the dangers of using a psu that cant cope with the system, well the best senario would be the computer wouldnt start or would run in a slow underclocked mode, the worst case senario would be the psu would burn out.... the ultra worst case senario would be the psu burns out and takes out other pc components with it !!!!
if i were you i would send that 430 watt psu back and get a higher wattage one shipped.... ohh and dont go for a cheap high wattage psu, get a decent brand one.... seasonic make quite good psu's (though they can be pricey)
Ohh also is that 3 1gb memory modules that you ordered ??? if so send one back or buy another one, if you have 3 modules then the computer wont run in dual channel memory mode which will affect the memory speeds !
heres a good psu calculator so you can check it out for yourself !

For hard drives you cant beat the western digital raptors, full of 10,000 RPM goodness !!! The 150GB raptors even come with a cool window on the drive :D
