And to make things more confusing here's my advice : ) If you are using iMovie to edit Render to 720 x 480 (like chuckerii said) which is the miniDV format standard 30 fps. No compression (huge file) Then to have iMovie recognize the file you have to open it in the Quicktime Player and export as a DV stream. Then put it in the media folder (of your iMovie project). When you launch iMovie it will tell you that's there's a strange file in your media folder but it will put it in your bin so you can use it. Good luck.
Thread: Carrara and MacOs X.2 | Forum: Carrara
I'm running Carrara on a G4 733Mhz and 700something of RAM. It's working OK with Mac OSX 10.2 I'd stick with Mac OS9 until you change to a G4.... My opinion...

mmmh... they just remodeled the site.... They used flash and it's kind of weird. (the navigation) This is the kind of things that give Flash a bad name... Here's a direct link to the movies that I liked! Pica Towers Trilogy. View them in the order that they are presented. They are all interconected in a way.... Very cool (yet dark and distrubing at the same time), ja!Thread: WIP | Forum: Carrara
Very nice. I still haven't gotten the hang of the vertex modeler.. and I know it can be pretty powerful by what I've seen... I'm divided between learning Amapi (the one that came with Carrara) or get the hang of Carrara's built in VM. So far all I've done is a little of both... Enought to get by but I wish I knew more..
Thread: How dose Pixels 3D compare to Carrara? | Forum: Carrara
Good question..... I was wondering also, any comments? The down side is that its Mac only (not that it bothers me..) I guess if you are into Pro applications the new Cinema 4D is the way to go... Of course if you are mostly hobbies or don't need any of the pro features (and prices...) I'll stick with Carrara.
Thread: Coke Bottle? | Forum: Carrara
thanks I found one in the content cd.... Go figure I would appreciate any suggestions ofr the textures, though How can I simulate old scratchy glass in the texture room? Play with texture/grunge maps in the Transparency/specular/ color channels?
Thread: [WIP] - Foating Refinery II - sky dome topic related... | Forum: Carrara
What keeps that refinery in the air, by the way? And what is it refining? Mmh... all very good questions.... I would also like to know... : ) I guess they are mining some rare gas in the atmosphere (maybe the yellow clouds themselves...?) As for the method of propulsion I was thinking of Sirius Cybernetics' Improbability Drive, or something ... : ) Actually this is a personal proyect that I like to do to see what I can do with Carrara... so I can plan for workarounds, bugs, etc... so when I use it in a Real project there will be no surprises... or at least less : ) By the way, I like your suggstions for the clouds... Make more of them and hide the refinery... You do realize that the texture in the bottom are clouds from the "sky" effect... not a ground infinite plane...? It just look weird because we are seeing it from above and not a ground view... Thanks for the comments!
Thread: WIP: Floating Refinery - Problem with animation | Forum: Carrara
Hello litst: Isn't it a little confusing how many pressets/objects we have for clouds and fogs...? When to use each one..? We have 4d Clouds, cloud primitives. and Scene effects with clouds And in the fog department we have Distance fog, cloudy fogs and fog primitives...? Which one is best : )
Thread: Anything Grows 2 | Forum: Carrara
Eric: Is this compatible with Carrara 2.1? How about Anything Grooves? Do you have a date estimate when Eovia is releasing the new SDK? So you can fix the minor issues? thanks. Great work by the way

Check out Rust boy's Site. In the "Making of" section Brian Taylor describes some tips on bluring objects to make a depth of field effect. Hope this helpsThread: 2cv : almost done... | Forum: Carrara
And I forgot... Happy Birthday!! Is Blender a 3d modelling program or renderer or what? Thanks FJV

I Still can't render quicktime movies with alpha Channels. That part is not working... I'm using Mac OS X
Thread: Animating a shader's Texture Map | Forum: Carrara
I think you need to make two diferent shaders. One with texture map A and then duplicate that shader and modify the texture map to B Then in the time line appply the first shader. Move forward in the animation and apply the other shader to your object. Carrara automticaly makes a keframe and you shader will be animated. I haven't done it in a while but I guess that's one way of doing it Good luck
Thread: Animation for Renderosity | Forum: Carrara
mmh.... Let's make Brian Taylor http://www.rustboy.com an honorary member of the forum.... ja! : ) _______________ I heard someone in another forum say that the software you use sucks for animation. Are you going to let them get away with that? [yep, I know that was naughty!] ;-)
