And another thought. I an new to the art world, as my background is in music and live theatre. When I first joined here, I shared some of my music in the Freebies section, and offered some for sale in the MP. I tried to participate in constructive ways. Then I made the mistake of posting in the World Events/Political section, where some of the more vicious types hang out. Because of my traditional views, I was called names and received very nasty IMs and emails. I had several images pulled because one of the mods didn't understand the concept of parody. Yet, many images, which were much more insulting but of a different viewpoint, remained. That's unfair. But. it's not my site, so if the PTB want an unevenly applied set of rules, so be it. It does not speak well for the art community.

I understand the rules, but you cannot make blanket statements and be accurate. I know from experience that the mods are unfair, and can backup what I said. I've been on both side of crticism, and have always tried to offer constructive comments and NEVER name call. I have posted images in what used to be the political gallery and been told that I suck, that I'm racist, that I am not an artist, and all by people who don't know me. On the other side, I have been scolded by the mods for making a comment that was not vicious, was constructive, but still got me in trouble. The mods are unfair in my view, so unless you know my story, you cannot defend them.

I've been here a little over a year, and found that the mods only want "nice" comments, don't try to post anything close to criticism of an image, even if it's ridiculous. They are also very uneven in their enforcement of this. So, I will no longer post images, buy anything from MP, or do anything to make this a more intersting place. They want shallow and superficial, they got it.

Well, you've taken sides, so you are NOT non-partisan. But, I don't have a problem with partisanship. Isn't that what politics about? My comments you've quoted have been taken out of context, and you fail to also research the comments that have been aimed at me, which sometimes get much more personal. I've been told that I am not an artist, that I am a racist, to shut up, among other things. So, before you pass judgement, you should look at the whole picture. And the bottome line is what this thread is about: is it proper to invade someone's non-political gallery to make political comments or leave negative and hateful comments to get even for comments made in a different place? I think not. Have a nice day.

Cara, all I have to say is that everyone who has done this shares your particular political point of view. I am glad that you have distanced yourself from these people. I respect others, and their point of view, and although there are disrespectful people on any side of an issue, this does not speak well for those who tout themselves as open-minded, compassionate, and caring. I see a lot of hate from them, to the point of hysteria.

I have seen that kind of thing. I find it interesting that many of these people have no gallery of their own. I have looked at the "artist"ages of many and found they just seem to show up to have an argument. That's unfortunate since the purpose of this site is art, not debate.

OK, I remember that part. I just got another one for one of my images. Seems some of the nastier people from the World Events/Political gallery are coming in trying to drive down my rankings.

Thanks Spike. I have read the TOS, but I don't remember there being anything in there covering grudge comments. Seems to me if you get several comments that are all positive, then one that is very negative, seems out of place.

"Become a commentator. At least then you'll get paid for it." Indeed, I hear the money's good. Thank you.

XENOPHONZ, thanks for your comments. I'm really tired of the debates, because it doesn't change any minds. It's an excersize in futility. And many of those who have opposite views tend to get nasty and/or illogical, so it's not worth it anymore. I have posted things just as a way to show the other side of the argument. Sometimes, I let things really torque me, like a recent post that implied that America is a nation of rapists and torturers. That kind of stuff is designed to push buttons, and serves no useful purpose. Thanks again for your comments.

Mark_uk, I have no need for any hits in my gallery. I think it's clear why I ask the question. I ask an honest question, nothing more, nothing less. Sorry you cannot see this.

"Having the right to express yourself does not obligate your neighbor to buy you the soapbox; that's your responsibility that goes along with the right." Agreed.

Thanks for the reply. It sorta worked. I can move all the toolbars over to the other screen, but the main window stays on the primary monitor. You can tell this was originally written for a Mac, there's no right click functions (arggg). Thanks again. wT
