Thread: V4 is JUST around the corner now! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I for one am looking forward to V4. I enjoy working with V3 more than Miki, Jessie and Aiko combined. I hope she can use V3 textures.
I'm glad they did the render in Carrara, it is my renderer of choice as P6 can't handle any kind of complex scene. I pre ordered p7, so we'll see if it has more headroom for complex scenes.
My sister asked what I wanted for Xmas, I told her a gift certificate from DAZ , CP or here, LOL

Quote - Personally, I can't stand how the renders of Judy and Don turn out. Makes me feel like I am watching SIMS video games screenshots. They just don't have what it takes to really make beautiful renders. But then again, it's just my opinion.
I always have said and say now- You get what you pay for.
Agreed on all points!!

Thread: Really Seriously Important P7 Question... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Reason #3 just hit my mailbox: MULTIPLE UNDO!
100 levels! YIPPEEE!!!!Quote:
Give your creativity and productivity a boost with Multiple Undo and Redo in Poser 7. Freely explore poses, morph target changes, and body transformations without worrying about making mistakes or having to save multiple versions of your project at every new turn. In Poser 7, you can return to earlier poses and designs, and can step back and forth through up to 100 recent changes within your scene! Even steps you couldn’t previously back out are now undoable. Multiple Undo and Redo is an incredible timesaver that can be applied on a wide range of your document changes, including all actions from the Poser library, applying poses, or deleting figures and props from your scenes.
To me, that alone is worth the upgrade. :-)
Btw, did someone mention spaceships?
That is excellent news. My main concern is the rendering engine. It is almost impossible to do a scene in P6 with 2 figures and any detail without a memory error, yet I can have 3-5 times the detail and up to 6 figures in less time in carrara, guess we'll see.

Thanks for the reply. I have the Samyra texture and thats not it, it's darker in tone. Guess I'll email them and see, thanks again.

Thread: Poser and dual core - OS change also needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Sticking my bit in......I see nobody has mentioned AM2 and DDR2 Memory yet?
Al.
AM2 is just a type of socket for the CPU and DDR2 a type of memory, neither of which play as much of a role as what is discussed above. Technically if/when POSER is released as a 64 bit version will we be able to throw more power at it. Memory plays a big part in POSER (and proper coding in the app) and you are severly limited in that aspect by a 32 bit environment..
The 64-bit CPUs can handle more memory and larger files. "The advantage of 64 bits is it gives you a larger address space, which means it lets you address more memory," Krewell says. Today's 32-bit Intel and AMD chips can address up to 4GB of memory (an Apple G4 unit can address 2GB).
A 64-bit processor, on the other hand, can address up to 16 Terabytes of memory . Imagine the textures you can load with that!
I run 2 rigs with Poser, one a high end, dual core 4800+ /2 gig rig and there is a big difference in performance with dual core. It does well, but i still get memory errors wirth renders which is why I rarely use it as a renderer, it is just coded badly. I can render scenes 3 times as complex in Carrera pro in way less time.

Thread: Blazing over the 1MC ..Those of you that use Wardrobe Wizard, how do you like it | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Hello.
Is it possible to transforms clothes so they can fit Blackhearted GND character (a morphed V3 variation)?
Thanks in advance.
I have had no luck getting this to work with satisfactory results, but seeing so many having good results, guess I'll have to give it another shot (for the 100th time) :-(

Thread: G2 James cheap on morphs! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Who has said anything bad about WW? IMO it's one of the best applications for Poser EVER.
Sure, there ARE some issues, you just can't expect anything to be TOTALLY flawless, but 98% of the clothes converted are absolutely fine. AND what's more, it's easy to use - and can be used like what The Tailor is supposed to do: Fit clothes on morphed characters.
Granted, I bought mine while it was still on introduction sale, but I've bought ALL the stuff from PhilC that way, because I KNOW it will be worth the money - and more!
Interesting, I have a modded GND that I use for most renders as well as a modded Miki and I have yet to have WW convert a clothing file to where I could use it. And yes, I have viewed the tutorial several times and looked at Phils site for info. I was excited about and obviously it works great for some, oh well.
Best, Michael

Thread: v3 looking dull where are the curvy more sensual morphs? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - DAZ has a morph called Star that makes V3 into a Marilyn Monroe.
Fact is, Vickie is not meant to be a female human but a teenboy fantasy, like the half-starved "heroines" in his comic books and their meatpuppet avatars in real-life La-La Land. If you want real people, explore Judy, Jessi, and Miki. Judy especially commits the sin of being built like teenboy's mother rather than Britney Aguilera and the CFMs. Netherworks has some morphs that soften Jessi a bit and with a little nosing about, you can find similar things for Miki.
M
Then you need to get out more. I know quite a few women that have the V3 "fantasy" look in real life. Granted it's not the norm, but it's not pure fantasy either. Don't know where you get this idea since V3 is rather "normal" (see dumpy) looking out of the box

Thread: Poser to Carrara 5 Pro - Awesome results! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree totally, I got carrera pro when they had the sale also and I can safely say, I will probably never render in poser again. Now if we could only pose in it, I wouldn't need Poser, LOL.

Thread: If you're on a budget and like sales | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I was just trying to help those who are on small budgets get some really nice looking things for very cheap. Sorry if it caused a kerfuffle.
With all the piracy that goes on these days we should all keep an eye out for unusual things like these great prices, nothing wrong with that. Glad it's cleared up and legit.
Luis, thanks for the explanation and for the madness!! LOL

Thread: (Semi-OT) - Carrara 5 or Vue 5 as alternate Poser renderer? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This post was helpful since I am thinking of the Carrara deal. Is there a better option as JUST a renderer for poser scenes? I have 3DS for modeling, but am looking for something that will let me do more than 2 figures in a scene without the issues poser has.
I guess the question is, what program will do bigger scenes that poser and increase render times over poser?

Thread: Have Poser ? Get Carrara 5 + $25 for $99... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm interested in this deal as well, been thinking about Carrara awhile now. I NEED to hear more on faster render times AND the ability to have bigger scenes in it. I have a good X2 4800+ rig with 2 gigs high end DDR and even with that I can rarely get more than 2 figures in a scene with low render settings to work and if Carrara can help I am there.
Alos I read that the C-Pro version has even faster render times, anyone have any info on that?
Best, Michael
