lol thanks MadDog... nah, i wont' even bother uploading it to a gallery at all i dont' think, was just a pic done for fun....right after the guy sent it to me to color, he disappeared, so i just did it for the fun of it...lol another one of those, "lets see what this puppy can do" kinda days....hahahah was going to use it for a room picture in manor chat, but like i said, the guy disappeared, so never really did much with it till now....lol LOL OMG, i probably broke some copyright by coloring it and dont' even know it....sheesh... well, it was fun.... and thanks for your thoughts! :D
Thread: Bryce-Poser Hot gallery | Forum: Bryce
lol good topic, i've often wondered about that myself...lol i have no familiarity with poser so some of the following comments may seem ignorant or immature...ignorant yes, but because i do not know completely what is done to each image independently before it is posted, not ignorant because it's gonna be rude...lol, cause it's not meant to be... some pictures i look at say Bryce, or are in the Bryce gallery, (and what better gallery?? winks) and i think, THAT was done in Bryce? some of the pics are just too mind boggling to me to comtemplate how is was even begun in bryce, and some because as said above, the only image in it is a poser figure in front of a wall... i'd have to guess that if the majority of the image was created in poser, then it should be in poser, and if the majority was created in bryce, then post in bryce... reasoning: i as a newbie, look in a particular gallery, such as bryce, to see what is possible in bryce....or poser to see what's possible there... (i don't have poser tho, so am only speculating there anyway) but in my opinion, if someone such as myself comes in, new to both poser and bryce, or even just new to bryce, and want to now, what can i do with this program, and they see posers all over the place as a primary image, they are probably gonna search and search to find out how to make people in bryce...but if they were categorized as poser, but the description said rendered in bryce, it may clear up some things.. poser images look fantastic...and have seen some totally amazing metaball images in bryce.. the people who have been hee longer will of course know better then any newbie what is done where by looking, but was just thinking of simplifying and clarifing.... lol just my 2 cents, if it's worth that...lol JenC

Thread: Screen Shot Problems - Please Help! | Forum: Bryce
lol Zahnn, isn't it funny how a program with a built in screen cap won't screen cap itself? makes making a psp tutorial with pictures a pain...LOL Also, you can set in psp7 and 8 the screen cap set up options to grab multiple screen caps....as long as you don't go back into the psp window till your done, you can keep browsing and capping without having to go back and start a new cap....but once you open the psp window again, you gotta start a new screen cap again...
Thread: WIP: Facility - Comments and critics welcome | Forum: Bryce
looks fantastic.....the shiny ceiling shows a false sense of height..which in a low celing room is a wonderful thing....(specially in houses and small rooms) I love this pic, but yes, i would have to agree with slightly, yes slightly lol, less reflection on the ceiling...it now almost looks like the light beam is floating in an empty space....sonething a little less reflective might help plant it firmly in place for you...but then again, those are just my thoughts if i had been able to do something as great as that...grins oooo on taking a fourth look, lol, perhaps making some sort of trim to line the spot between the ceiling and walls to help define it's actual limits, then the reflectivity may look even better...grins (that thought occurred as i looked at the far wall above the door)
Thread: Gallery Comments--Why or Why Not? | Forum: Bryce
Catlin, You are always so nice...the voice of reason and the voice of design...lol You're probably right...lol hopefully ine of these days i'll have a whole day to sit and render, and post grins The plus side is, this week, i created a new phpBB2 forum for our manor and palace, and am now debugging....i would love to be able to design a whole new set of images for it using bryce. who knows, maybe my whole day in bryce rendering will be doing that? winks Anyhow, i'll try to post here more....lol but if ya'all don't see me for a while, dun worry, i'm still around...grins...but could be lost in the now 5 boards, or bryce, or scripting palace or building in manor, lol and if the kids kidnapped me, PLEASE SEND HELP! LOL thanks for all the support along the way! grins JenC

also, lol, i don't have many images in my gallery, but what i try to do it look at the number of viewings of that pic. It must be at least view worthy if people are looking at it, even if they don't have time to comment. That maybe could help some to see if their images are good or not, instead of just rankings or comments....personally i'm thriled to deatht that one of mine has like 65 viewings. Until i found this site, i thought the only way for me to show people my stuff was in the chat programs i use, Manor and palace, or for me to put them on my own web page and hand out the addy. I just love that i can have a few of my unworthy pics in with such great artists work... when people in manor say my pic looks good, i say, and i quote "this is nothing compared to what is at Renderosity" and i hand out the addy...lol so, if not commenting or ranking, maybe the mor etraffic will be a plus on my half? grins and winks JenC
Thread: Gallery Comments--Why or Why Not? | Forum: Bryce
I've only commented on a very few images, and i don't post here much either, but....my reasons are good in my eyes...lol as for gallery images, they are GREAT! I love all of them, and until i can put out work like that, they dun need my unskilled thoughts...lol other than WOW which is what i say when i see most of them.. (sometimes i say, WOW, they made that in Bryce??? man i need to get to work) lol and wonder off... Here, i read as much as i can, although i don't post much, i do read and learn, and when i need some help, i do ask a question or two...I don't get a huge amount of responses, but then, like i said, i don't post much either, but i look at it sometimes as a blessing, like the image critique time things...lol with as long as it takes my pc to render, the fewer differnt things i try at once, the better. winks basicly i'm the kind of person who sits in the shadows observing quietly, taking notes, learning from others...then when the time comes and i must come out (lol) i have something at least semi recognizable to show... I am in no way, nor will i be for some time, i assume, any where near as good as you all are....i've had my bryce for maybe 2 mos now? and i hope that i have learned alot and look forward to having more time to play with it, and learn the more complex things in it like this mos. challenge....lol Keep up the great work everyone! JenC
Thread: Critique time...lol | Forum: Bryce
am gonna mess with this again tonight...play with some colorings, maybe remove the lighting inside the falls, or dim it a little... hope to have a repost tomorrow, if the render don't take too long....lol I share your views...there is something definately wrong with this version, and it's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is as any one thing, so will change a few things and see how it comes out....lol thanks and will post a new one as soon as it's done with that longggggg render lol

shadow: I've tried several of the greener looking terrain textures and they all look like crap with this pic. I may need to change the sky properties to something completely different, although every setting i've tried makes it look even worse! LOL The mountains can be sharpened some by making less haze very easily....am thinking also of moving them back a bit to make them look more distant. Seven: the focus as of now is on the lighted waterfalles, but the foregroud is to give a sense of wanting to set on the benches. I think what actually happened, in this pic, is there are too many focal points...the falls, the benches, and that red tree. definately going to work on the grass texture, have never done a texture map before so should be very interresting...lol also need to make it look less flat....but then, i really love the original pic, so is hard to even compare...(and after about the 5th day working on the bryce version, they all looked the same..lol) thanks everyone for all the fresh views and thoughts and helpful hints..... the grass in the pic, looks great on some scenes and like this in others... http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=457280 is a pic i just fixed with the grass in it, is a good example of how good it can look....looks freshly mowed...grins will keep workin on it....lol
