Thread: Change in TOS...New Child Image Guidelines | Forum: Community Center
I read once that the "Coppertone Girl" image was a favorite among creeps, so there's no "safe" level of child nudity (or context it seems) when a subject like this becomes an issue.
BTW: Wasn't Jody Foster the original Coppertone Girl?
(I think it's brilliant image by the way - almost Rockwellian.)
uh, edited because I just realised that saying I think the image is brilliant, makes me sound like one of the "creeps" referenced earlier - eek! The issue was that it was favoured as a "trigger" image for their fantasies and sometimes even attacks. Nasty Stuff.

Thread: WIP holster for my backpack flamethrower's gun part | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Anthony - I can't show the pic at the moment, because it's still in the "messy" stage - but it's a combination of digital photograph (the figure), mixed with 3D elements (the Backpack and tubes, the environ and the giant mutant bug) - but in case you're confused, I actually inverted the Oxy Tanks so the valves/connections sit at the top and are higher than the figure's shoulders...a bit like the Ghostbusters backpacks I guess? But anyway, it allows me to show all that lovely detail! I'll certainly mail you a copy (or at least a link) when I I get it finished - there will be quite a bit of postwork I think, to get all the elements to slot together cheers

I had a look at the file I used, and it's actually your OxyTorch/Backpack prop - because the figure in the picture is facing forward, I wanted a backpack with some connections and details that would poke out from behind him, heheh...I have the tubes running into a futuristic-looking gun - the fellow is supposed to be an exterminator of giant mutant bugs. I saw the movie "The Life Aquatic" the other day - I think you might like some of cool retro-styled scuba gear they use in it. It's a very strange, fun film.

I've got a pic halfway done using the twin-cannister flamethrower (or is that just a sprayer of some kind?) - anyway, I was blown away by the articulation you built into the tubes/feedlines - amazing! When I get my pic finished I'll email you a link. Might not be for a month or so though!!

Thread: Boobs in the thumb get you hits...but not necessarily any comments. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have two pics up: thumb #1 shows a male face and thumb #2 shows a female face : female face pic gets more than twice the hits - perhaps a face invites further viewing in case any undeclared nudity or general skin is present in the full size pic? I am begining to believe there is an "art" to creating an good thumbnail...on other sites where I've got stuff uploaded, the "harder-to-make-out" I've made a thumbnail, the less hits it gets - say if the pic is a full-length figure and the thumbnail is just a reduction of that (rather than say an isolated bit of interesting detail) - no one can tell how great the art is and so miss out on enjoying the full image - the fools - I pity them!!! cheers, great topic!
Thread: Does Someone Know What Customizeable Auto Balancing in Poser 6 Is? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I know there are a set of rules for figure balancing in sculpture and painting called "Contra-posto" or "Counter Poise" - where certain parts of the body have to line up vertically to create stability etc...it might be an automated implimentation of that methodology perhaps? If so - Cool!!

Skygirl, you should hold a little forum competition for a new site name : I'll go first - "Poseable-Polygon-Super-Fantastic-Free-Site" best wishes, your freebies were awesome Cheers
Thread: CL cracking down? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Skygirl indicated that the situation arose because she and her partner asked permission to use "poser" in the site-name - CL said no - it wasn't a "crack down" - so we can assume the best way to get "Poser" included in your site-name is to NOT ASK permission from CL then hope they don't notce or bother about it til a few years have passed and the trademark protection lapses - However, if people DO ask, the proviso(spelling?) of including the a nice big badged link to CL and Poser homepage would be a good idea. But, in the end, I guess saying "no" outright to any requests saves them alot of hassle - because if a site gets "official" CL support, then CL would have to keep checking back all the time to make sure the site doesn't go all poser-p*rn or anything...or write up contracts setting out ToS and whatnot...

and remember that a 3D Object isn't really an "object" it's a bunch of co-ordinate data/code and Data/Code = Software. If you're able to claim purchasing of 3D models for your work, you list them as "Software" in your tax statements too.

Had a look at the final Poser 6 info on CL website: thought maybe they'd been planning something of their own called "Poser Free Store" - but doesn't look like it - the new Content Paradise's Free Stuff area is just called "Free Stuff"
