Quote - Not withstanding any of the above try selecting the skin in the material room then click on the "Add Skin Subsurface Scattering" Wacro button. This will give you the basics which you can further refine if required.
Thanks for pointing that out. It appears even a lot of Poser veterans are playing catch up with the new features. I'm still but an egg.

Bug report filed with them.
They will just say that was by design or a feature. That has been their stand on not fixing P8 or 2010 default tool selection.
True, but if people keep pestering them about it, they might do something about it. This is not the first time the issue came up. Most likely not the last.

You could try my EZSkin script, which is being beta tested by a couple of helpful people at the moment.
It writes new SSS based shaders for your character, keeping texture, specular, bump etc., image maps.
While there are several options to exercise some control over how the shaders are built, all you really need to do is select a figure, run the script and click on the 'Do it' button :-)
PM me if you're interested?
We get closer and closer to having a real "Make Art" button. Thank you. Anxiously awaiting this.

Thread: What happened to poser 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 8 is a big improvement over 7. You will be happy with it. The new library alone was worth the price of admission for me. Of course 9 and PP2012 are further improvements. If and when you have the money, you won't be sorry.
Thread: Poser 8 vs Poser 9 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I have a hard copy of poser 8 and it does not have a paper label. You could contact Smith Micro and see if the company you bought it from was a ligit dealer. It's possible though highly unlikely that the disks were different because of the show. I'd plan on buying a new, ligit copy.
The proper label is not paper, but inked printed on the outside of the disk in ink, rather than burned into the disk. I have a few Smith Micro discs. All are this way. Plus mine came separate Mac and PC discs.
I did buy a pirated disc from an Amazon partner. It registered. But I got an error message when I tried to update it. Communication with SM revealed the problem. Amazon shut the pirate down and refunded my money promptly.

Thanks for all, especially the vendor input. Just want to add, there are always new people coming aboard, and issues that are old hat to you "old timers" aren't to us. Please try to be patient with us. Beside, sometime, rehashing an old issue yields a new approach.
I just purchased the V4 and Antonia files for WW. I haven't gotten to the point of making clothes yet. Will be working on that eventually. So much to learn and do, so little time. Thanks again for an interesting and informative discussion.

If the label on the disc is burned in, say with Lightscribe, it is pirated. Smith micro prints their labels. It may pass registration, but trying to update catches it. Don't ask how I know.

Quote - here you go, this should help.
when you find suitable reference images you can load them in the front/side view as guides for morphing.

Thank you, I do a lot of size/shape adjusting. This should be quite useful.

Quote - I have no idea, sorry.
But I seriously think if they are a music group, that they need to downsize it. One person singing and a couple dozen girls in the background dancing all out of sync is really odd
Reminds me of some 60's folk music groups. A dozen of so guitars or singers, seldom fully in synch.

Perhaps they are reminding us that despite rumors to the contrary, they do still sell items for Poser users. I never have used Daz studio, but found a lot of useful items there. Probably half my runtime. Still have a number on my wishlist.

Are you using too much light? With PP2012 and GC, you need much less. Which is odd, as the default UI comes with four lights instead of the 3 in Poser 8. Just a suggestion.

Hahahahahahaha!!!!! I thought it was just me. I like the fantasy stuff at times, however too much of anything is not good.
Unfortunately the 9mbi nurse outfit comes with a zipper all the way down to the crotch, and the impossible to avoid high heels. Well, at least I have the scrubs outfits. Most of the nurses I work with use those anyway. Some of their other items look good. Thanks for the suggestion.
Good luck on your quest for decent clothes. Poserworld is a good place.
