I exported the kitchen, the moden house and the golf course (with the leaves made visible and meshed checked in the modeling room) no worries as an obj from C5pro, also various props such as cars, barbeque, furniture etc. haven't tried big scenes since with later versions C6 & 7, as the models are vey big polygon wise, small models, simple scenes OK but the textures are another story, with my own models I usually have to make new texture maps for use in DS surfaces as nothing else can be easilly exported other than colour, I render a top view of a plane with the bump, diffuse etc in Carrara and use that.
That said I prefer working in Carrara anyway. Animations from DS export well with PFE,
Mostly use my created props otherwise in iClone using 3Dxchange where multi character animation is easier but they have to be fairly low poly.
A strange phenomenom I have in exporting obj's from one app to the next is the shuffling of texture maps, find this with Poser too, often in the end easier to export untextured modelsand just redo it.
Thread: Free Carrara 7 3D World | Forum: Carrara
Quote - Being in Australia we've still got a few months to wait for that issue of 3D world so i got my copy of Carrara 7 on 3d artist, but the mac version comes without the 'native content pack' so no shaders or content and the landscape wizard does not work. Is there a way i can load the shaders etc from Carrara 6 pro?
I live in the sleepy lil' old backwater of Smithfield Adelaide South Aust, got 3D world mag at Munno Para newsagent over a week ago! had 3Dartist on order but this came first so I cancelled and got it instead.
love C7pro, 3D paint fun, but I'm still crap at it, heaps to learn, but
it is cool! no more seams on my crappy models!!
renders quicker than 6pro too as it is LargeAddressAware so I didn't waste that 4gb upgrade on my crummy cheap Dell laptop.
Thread: And yet another Luxrender, Reality, DAZ cult rant. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't posted much on this forum, mostly Daz3d but my favourite program is by far Carrara, I have both Poser7 and the free version of DS but basically use BOTH as Carrara plugins, neither DS or Poser render fast enough for me to do animations with shadows that look good, only ever use open GL or firefly dep on which one I use, just waiting to see what others do with this Lux render thing and whether Poser ends up with the cheaper option, and if it looks better than Carrara. I am always amused by this arguing about what is better thing! Seen great stuff from both camps, true talent even shows up with the 3 coloured pencil or playdough options! I wish I could buy an app that enables THAT!

I got Poser 7 a month ago, similar problem, and found from another forum you need to have a microphone plugged in or enabled, even when using files!
Thread: Graphics Card | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thanks for the information that 3delight doesn't use the graphics card! I tended to use the open GL render as my laptop was too slow but I recently added a gb of ram, I use Carrara 6 pro and Poser now I have it as Daz studio crashes a lot loading content as my card is utter crap (intel igfx 358 max memory) , and Poser is more forgiving, but I might render in Daz too as my pz3 files import quite well into it.
Thread: Remember to unzip your downloaded freebies as you get them... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am new to Poser, been using Daz studio for about 6 months, but due to limited disc space on my laptop put most my runtimes on an external hard drive with just frequently used figures, etc on my pc, my zip files are on a seperate usb flashdrive stashed in an unlikely spot because I'm paranoid after two house break-ins (pre-computerownership fortunately, but I lost very sentimental camcorder footage both times) of losing everything. Insurance doesn't replace everything I have sorely learnt.
