Also with Poser 6 you can create a point light and put that within your light bulb so it will light up objects just like as if it were a light bulb. For a florescent tube just put several point lights along its length.
Thread: Poser 4 vs Poser 5 or 6? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
dayjo, having both, I would say P6 is better than P5. More stable, faster - especially the Hair and Cloth room, more lighting options, more material room options. I don't even use P5 anymore. I would recommend going right to P6 if you want to upgrade from P4.
Thread: How can I make realistic scars? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have you tried using displacement maps? Just create your scar in something like photoshop. Make it black and white, so that the higher areas are lighter shades of grey than the lower areas. That deal with the sticking out part. Then just create another color map in the same location for the bloody part.

I guess you could transplant Jessie's head onto Vickie. There are several tutorials out there showing how to swap heads on characters.
Thread: Need to Turn Off Shadows for a Whole Figure... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In the properties box uncheck cast shadows for everything you don't want to cast a shadow. If you meant the entire figure all at once, I don't think you can unless you were to write some sort of python script.

Thread: What makes you look at an image ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The quality of the thumbnail. If it looks crude in the thumbnail, it is going to look crude full size. One important thing for me is a nicely shaped breast if it is of a woman. Breast seem to be the toughest thing to get to look realistic in Poser. If the breasts look like they could be on a real woman, chances are the rest of the character will also be realistic looking, or at least look good. Turns off are breasts as big as Idaho, or breast that stick up in the air when the character is on her back. Please, take gravity into account people.

Depends on the camera you are using. Face, hand, and pose cameras are parented to the figure.

Thread: Crazy Bump Map B.S. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try reducing the bump value. Just because it is the default setting doesn't mean it is too high for what you want to do.
Thread: A room with a Vue | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The e-on website has a tutorial on importing Poser content into Vue. Also you might want to ask your question in the Vue forum, more people likely to us Vue there than here.
Thread: RENDER ME THIS, RENDER ME THAT........... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It was $70 at CompUSA, so I can't complain. Like I say, it works great and Nvidia is great at supply driver updates.

Thread: "Conform to..." jumps to knees / head | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As a side problem, how do you conform shoes when you have scaled the legs to another length? As of now the toes and heels poke out of the shoe. I don't want to just make the toes invisable, because with some shoes you want to see the toes, just in the right position. I saw this answered here at one time but can't figure out how to find it again.
