Thread: Does Bryce have a future? | Forum: Bryce
I still use Bryce 4, it is not the greatest render, it is not the greatest modeller, but it is cheap. And if you are willing to spend some time learning how Bryce really works than wonderous things can be achieved with it. Especially in combinatie with a load of free program's that float around on the net, both modelling and post-production. As i wrote before on this forum, a good carpenter never blames his tools.

And a well deserved congratulations from my hand. A very good example to show the snobs that with so-called low-end software high-end results can be achieved. A good carpenter never blames his tools.

Render a distance render, save it and import it as alpha-channel, play a bit with the curves and then go back to your picture, select the alpha channel as mask and blurr away.
Works a lot faster than DOF in Bryce 5, and for those who are still stuck with an older version, this is how you can do a decent DOF.

Replacing a disk, well if it is the same as with Codemaster when i damaged (i had a real crack in it:-) my OPF-cd then they want the broken CD, the box it came in and the boolets and some money (it was 7 UKPounds i believe) for a new disk and postage and packaging, and then they will send you a new one.
I guess i would be no much different with Corel.

Thread: What kind of logic is this? Double processor speed then 4x your project render. | Forum: Bryce
Mmm, well i switched this summer from a Celeron 400 with 64mb ram to a powerhouse with an MSI KT3-ultra board, a 1.8 Athlon and a gigabyte of memory. The renders are about 1200% faster. I know because i had a render on my old wich took 4 (240 min) hours exactly, on my new machine it rendered in exactly 20 minutes. Rendertimes are now on the rise again, but then i am doing things that i would not have dreamt of with my previous machine.
