Thread: New Poser 7 User.. question about updating | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The newer versions of Poser have a vastly improved library. That alone was worth the price for me.
Thread: P8 Alyson | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am so sorry I missed this before. A great deal of very useful information here. I hope others read this. Thank you all for the input. I'm learning, but slooooowly.
I like Alyson and Miki. You can do a lot with them right out of the box. I avoided Victoria for a long time. Her physiology and face were completely unimpressive. If you get the morphs++, it's a different story. But you have to pay for them.
Waiting for the new Poser Pro, to see if I can fit my medical outfits on the newer figures.
Thanks again.

Thread: EXTRA! EXTRA! Read All About It - Poser 9 Is HERE (almost) ... ;=] | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 8 was a big improvement over 7. I expect 9 to be even better. Smith Micro has been pretty good to it's customers.
It will still be a low end system. Expect to do work. They didn't finally include the "make art" button, or did they? :-)

I guess I qualify as "general public", since my computer skills level are equivalent to that of someone who can change their car's oil, spark plugs, air filter, and change a tire. started in Poser 7 a couple of years ago, loved it. Upgraded to Poser 8, like it better.
There is a lot that has to be learned. I just started, but intend to upgrade. Timing couldn't be better, as I'm now taking on more hours at work. Maybe Pro 2012? Price is good. Not sure if I need all the features, but I can afford it now. Maybe I can use it later. Although not an overtly friendly company, I like dealing with Smith Micro. Good pricing for existing customers, and great customer support. A lot of their people sharing their knowledge on the forums. They have my business. Do hope they have a better manual this time around.Â
Is Poser perfect? Of course not. It is a low end program. But I cannot afford the better programs out there. Probably never will. It works for me. Now I will definately need to upgrade my computer. Looking at a kit at Newegg.

Very nice. I could find uses for that. Even have the banjo. Looking forward to this.

I wonder if the economic malaise will allow the continued survival of two companies in this field. Both rely on hobby money, the supply of which seems to be getting tighter as time goes by.
Thread: Small Boobs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Count me as another small breast fan. I work with women (nurses). The bizarre proportions of many Poser/Daz characters were a big turn off at first. My favorite character became Laura 3. Most of the women I worked with were of her size and proportions. Figure not all that adjustable, though. I have started getting better results with morphs.
The other day, I was with a patient, and a student nurse came in and introduced herself. Pre-teen Laura almost exactly. Short, flat chested, short white uniform, black hair up in a bun. College student that could have passed for a middle schooler. Been working on getting altering a dress into a uniform, to create a similar character.
I always appreciate the time taken to share your knowledge. Hopefully, some day I will have learned enough to be able to pass on to other newcomers. Good day, gentlemen.

Quote - I guess we can see how popular it is if it took this long for people to notice it was gone.

Well, with a whole new look, it takes time for eyes to adjust to the light.

Their new character set for Daz Studio 4. One figure that can be morphed into all sorts of sizes and shapes. Adults, children, monsters, animals. Works only in Daz at this point. After reading about DS4 on Daz's forums, I was so underimpressed, I have it downloaded, but haven't installed it yet. I'm still learning Poser, don't need more work.

I'm afraid I can't recall. Very busy day. I do remember checking and it was more than one thread. When I went to report it in this thread, I noticed it was no longer there. Went back and it was no longer happening. Perhaps my machine? I always customize the software I use. Still, standard FF 5, Win 7 up to date. Sorry to trouble you. Perhaps not worth fretting over. If it happens again, I will be more specific.

Just over in the Poser forum, and the boxes on the side (Advertising, What's Hot Today, etc.) were overlapping the text boxes on the right side. When I came over here, it stopped. Isn't doing it now. Intermittent problem? Working too much on my part?
Haven't seen any elephants. Will keep an eye out. Did see sugarplums dancing around, but they turned out to be in my head.
Thanks for all the hard work. This really is a great place.

Thread: Creepy the Clown | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Content Paradise has a few clown face paint morphs that are fairly inexpensive. They also have "Psycho the Clown" for M4, I think. Right up your alley, but fairly pricey. Funny, was just looking at that today, and I'm really not in the market for clowns today.
