This all very exciting and IF eventually it can be used with Carrara it will be FANTASTIC !
If Google doesn't translate the manual accurately into English I'm sure readers can offer suggestions to correct spelling or grammar - even perhaps a better way of describing a feature in English. But I agree the documentation is important to accompany the release.
I could help you Mike ! With the manual ?
But is it possible to export the hair into Carrara ?
Don't now about exporting from Poser to Carrara - Our hope is that VirtualWorldDynamic will make a plugin for Carrara so all work is carried out within the Carrara environment - This promises to answer what Carrara Users especially animators, have for many years, prayed for !!!!

Anyone have luck with Sparroe Hawke's cloth plugin for Carrara - he updated it a few months ago but I've not had to try it.

No I didn't know that so look forward to trying it . Thanks for the tip
You can see how this ocean "animates " in my video posted on CarraraTor's forum. Just some experiments composited.

No post work - created and rendered entirely with Carrara.
I have used Brian Orca's "Ocean Plugin" but similar results would be achieved with Carrara's native Ocean.
The mesh is textured using a terraine shader.
The model is the WW1 USS Minnesota from from Chris Schell available for free [ thanks Chris] and is pretty amazing in its detail - takes 2/3 minutes to load !
I think I downloaded from Renderosity but this is his email taken from the file black_knights-templar@hotmail.com
Oh yes I have used an image for the backdrop for this but using the realistic sky can add some really nice effects.
ALL in Carrara !!!

Thread: Cararra Animation Competition "My Mini Movie " | Forum: Carrara
Hi
Post work after the final Carrara renders is not permitted. Only exception of course is using your video software for compositing shots and things like cross fade in / out effects and also the title and credits themselves but nothing to alter the appearance of what you make with Carrara -like colour correction or other video filters and overlays.
Carrara has plenty of tools to make a great animation and renders and this is what the competition and the website is about - to explore the capabilities of Carrara and your skills in using the available tools [not to mention your overall film producing/directing which is not an insignificant requirement in itself even though it is only for a 2 minute movie ! ]
Yes you can use any of the built in tools or plugins available from Fenric,Inagoni, Sparrowhawke Digital Carvers and Daz but "plugins" must be declared in the précis of how you made your movie ( required to be submitted with your entry )
Don't forget to declare your intention to participate in the forum where you and anyone else participating will be warmly welcomed.
thanks for your interest in this .
cheers
Thread: Is there something wrong with Carrara? | Forum: Carrara
My simple answer is - for the "money" currently only $159 I think there is nothing better than Carrara for an all round software that will utilise daz AND poser content and imports and exports a plethora of formats. It is not perfect and that is more Daz's fault through lack of interest in developing and marketing Carrara. Someone said it is little different to Carrara of ten years ago - not true of course - many things added since then. If you can live with the software as is there is a lot to learn about what it can do as any regular user will testify. Forget the negatives here and elsewhere and give it a try

Thankyou for your comment - feedback is always welcome ,if not essential.
The current view is simply that, should you wish to fully benefit from what members have contributed then joining the group is not a big ask. Signing in to get access is not uncommon. I have to do it on Renderosity, Daz etc.
Why not register with the forum and decide then ? Hopefully you will find it worth the trouble remembering that adding your knowledge will only make it better. The more people that participate will only increase the knowledge pool.

Thread: Sad state of the community | Forum: Carrara
Quote - **Where do you post your renders/animations/results? ** The DA Carrara group gets very few posts. Not sure where the most popular Carrara gallery is?
As for Animation there is now our new community site CarraraTors.
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2878534
You will find the few guys there are focused on what Carrara can do and not what it cant - We dont wast our time, or yours with debating the "demise' of Carrara or inefficencies of Daz. We "enjoy" supporting each other, learning ,showing our results so if you are interested in animating why not join the "CarraraTor" Forum and get involved with the software?
Or do folks prefer to just "whinge" and not actually contribute anything, as quite a lot of people do?

All the best.
Great Uncle LROG
Maybe give dax's CARRARA a try it has
Modelling / Animation/Plant _Tree generator/terraine/ physics/terrific shader creation/ Fog_Fire_Realsky/ Hair and more plus handles many files including all poser. Demo and cheap versions but latest 8.1 Pro usually on special.
Thread: the Dawn of a new day... | Forum: Freestuff
There are a lot of people who use daz's CARRARA who might be interested in Dawn so will she work with Carrara 8.5 ?
Is Daz giving you support to make her happen in their applications.
Definitely interested if shes good for Animation and can use existing bvh successfully !
