When constructing a model in max that is exported as a 3ds.......... The 'stack' in max contains information relating to the past operations on the model. Some of these operations effect the rotation/pivot locations of the objects and the information will spill forth into the exported model. It will look fine in max but upon export/import the objects explode. Booleans and edit mesh attachments are the biggest offenders that cause this problem. The only real fix for it is to do a 'reset xform' on the entire model before exporting from max. If you paid for it, I'd contact the seller and inform them of the problem. Explain that the author needs to do a reset xform (found in the utilities panel) on the entire model before exporting. This will fix all 'exploding' and rotation/size problems. Hope that helps! For model organization, it's very hard to beat 3D Exploration. It autogenerates thumbnails, will let you rotate/zoom the model in a preview window and does conversions too. I started working with them in version one (when it was first developed in Russia) and have never looked back. Since it went to Right Hemisphere it's really grown into a great program. You can find a link to it on our homepage at www.baument.com my .02 Ed

You're right Dave, it does. The file size is already pushing what I like to put up for the free download, to split the vert's would make it to big for distribution via download. If memory serves, you can split the verts in UVMapper....I'm sure someone here knows how...... Thanks for the feedback! Ed
