I like irfan myself. It has a great screen capture utility and it can do some other graphics functions as well. It's available at a lot of places for download, including C-Net. Hope this helps, Cres
Thread: Is it really necessary to buy V3, Freak, Michael3, S3, etc... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm a DAZ Mod so obviously I'm biased, but I think that if you're starting off, getting the 3D Starter Kit with the V3 Reduced Res and M3 Reduced Res included is a very good deal. Although I thought that Don was much better than the P4 guy, the only thing I liked about Judy was that she could take V2 textures. I've never liked Judy, especially around the eyes. The current products for Judy make her look better, but I still don't like her as much as V3, even the Reduced Res V3. And between Don and either M3 or David, Don loses every time.
Making your own characters is great, but I don't see much difference between using the P5 fem and using V3 when it comes to "using your own tools." If you want to make custom characters, you can do that with both. The only difference is (IMO) you get more that you can do with V3 out of the box before needing to create your own magnets.
Hope this helps,
Cres

400 pounds of chocolate IS a work of art! (Heck, a chocolate bar is a work of art in my book.)

I definitely like the Elfridges model - I hope the revolving door does revolve. The first one I'm not as fond of but I'm not quite sure why. The ice cream shop with new textures would be quite useful. I do like the ice cream try you're showing, though, as is. Cheers!

I've used it in P5 without any problems. Dumb question - you have closed and re-opened Poser, correct? I've had P5 suddenly refuse to load textures properly a few times, with no rhyme or reason. Giving P5 a time-out fixed it each time. Cheers!

Thread: YAHOO USERS BEWARE OF SPYWARE | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
" Frankly speaking, you went somewhere you were not supposed to go, or did something you shouldn't have done. " Wrong. I get pop-ups a lot of commercial sites, not warez, not porn sites, etc. (Well, I did before I got Firefox.) As well, if you type in a URL just slightly wrong (there are a lot of jerks who mimic popular site names and deliberately misspell the name to get people who meant to go to the real site) - or if the site was abandoned and some scumbag picked it up, you may get hit with all sorts of garbage as well. I tried to direct someone to a legit site last week, and they were innundated with ads because they missed a letter in the URL when they typed it in. We cleaned out over 700 spyware bugs in his system by the time we were done. (2 hours on the phone fixing it. Ick!) Some browser hijacks will allow you to change the homepage back for that session, but they modify the registry so the next time you start your computer, the home page is hijacked again. There are ways to find the bug that's causing a browser to be hijacked like that, but there's not enough info here to figure it out. The last time I checked Firefox was safer than IE due to the way IE handles things like ActiveX.
Thread: Male manga/anime character | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It depends on the particular anime/manga series as to how the guys look. The high school aged ones look almost identical to the girls face-wise (like the characters in DNAngel), but the older males do resemble the Bishonen package more. Look at "Decendents of Darkness" or "Pet Shop or Horrors" characters, for example, to see what I mean. And if you open up the genre to include manhwa for example (Korean style manga such as "Model") then the range of looks is even larger. Cheers!

That's what I did libernull, and it worked quite well. Dale B - I do like the Bishonen pack as well, but I like the expressions I can get with Aiko - they work really well for what I need. The Bishonen pack is worth it just for the textures, even if you Aiko-ize David. Cheers!

I'd been trying to get the head/neck seam fixed for days. Thanks sooo much for doing the magnets! Have a great week, Cres

Xena did a magnet set so you can transfer the Aiko head over as a morph for David (export the Aiko head, then load David and apply the head as a morph target), then apply the magnets and have a very nice anime male. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2022093 Cheers!

I exported Aiko's head with the default settings, then applied the head as a morph target for David, then used Xena's magnet set and it worked great. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2022093 It's a lot easier than my Pop Top method since David's and Aiko's heads have the same number of vertices and mapping. Cheers!
Thread: Aiko 3 w/ Vicky 3 inj morphs and Morph Manager | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I hadn't thought to try the V3 male body morph on Aiko. That's a clever idea. I had good luck with several of the SP3 face morphs, including some of the face morphs like FaceLong which can help make the face look a little more masculine. Cheers!

Are you using P5? If so, connect the Ambient_Color node to the texture and set the Ambient_Value to 1. That should fix it. If it's still a little dark, you can make the Ambient_Color lighter. Cheers!

Marque - what outfit is the male character wearing in the 2nd picture you posted? Thanks! Cres
