Ahem, this is the official nVidia driver and to date it is about the best one that we ever saw for the GeForce2/3. And about multithread, I use mostly apps that do support multithread such as LightWave. :) I don't think that it's a faulty OpenGL driver or even a faulty video card driver since I use highly intensive OpenGL apps on a daily basis and it only bugs in Vue. There is definately an incompatibility between Vue and the drivers and we should look at E-on and Nvidia to work things out. I have used Vue with the 12.41 on WinXP RC1, RC2 and now back to Win2k and it works flawlessly. Cheers!

I don't have Bryce 5. :) You can do any kind of clouds in HyperVoxels, from light fog to full volumetric fluffy clouds...it does take a lot of time to achieve and render but it is definately possible. If you are refering to the HV presets then yes, they suck. :) Cheers!

Hmmm...where can we see these volumetrics in Bryce 5 because I am quite skeptical that it's better than LightWave's HyperVoxels...this feature alone costs the same as Bryce. :) Cheers!

Thanks a lot Varian for the link. I use this site for creating clouds/atmospheres and tornadoes/twisters: http://www.wolkenatlas.de/ I simply love recreating these! :) Cheers!
Thread: Vue d'Esprit and Radiosity - Programmers please take a look... | Forum: Vue
Hi Joerg, A great LightWave coder actually used a similar trick a while ago and created a plugin that fakes radiosity with a set of lights along with motion blur. I don't use it since I have radiosity in LW but it works great for older versions that didn't have radiosity and Global illumination. I would love to see such a thing for Vue in some form of plugin. :) Cheers!

Thread: Vue d'Esprit 4 Review Posted | Forum: Vue
Thanks guys...it wasn't easy to make the review though as there is so much to talk about Vue. You are right MikeJ, I wanted to say terrain exports instead of 3D models...I will try rectifying it once I get my articles editing script to work flawlessly. :) I didn't know about the DEM import via the Objects menu, I will try it out right away. As for the Mac version I am following what I saw on their site and like you I have been for too long out of the Mac market. :) There will be a tutorial coming up within a week for Vue 4, stay tuned. Thread: Rendering Animations crash 99% of the time! | Forum: Vue
Well, I started a new animation with the same scene but with a totally new motion and it rendered all of the 385 frames overnight! :) I will show the link to the final animation later. Cheers!
Thread: Rendering Animations crash 99% of the time! | Forum: Vue
Well, I got news from E-On and they asked for the file so I will know what is going on. Maybe it's only my scene that is corrupted...we never know! :) Cheers!

Hey Cheers, Thanks I didn't know thaat but even in Win98/WinMe Emulation mode it crashed! :( Cheers!

Yeah since WinXP is shipping real soon too they will get lots of e-mails if it's related to the OS. :) I managed to reproduce the problem about 30 times today so I will definately send them an e-mail. Cheers!

Actually I am running RC2 which is far more stable than the beta builds as it's the final build before release. Only tweaks happened since RC2 to Final, this build is about 2 weeks old and it has gone gold 3 days ago. After running XP I would never go back to Win9x, which I left 2 years ago when I moved to Win2k. It might be an issue with WinXP but I doubt it since I started the animation with a different motion and it rendered 386 frames just fine. Btw, all my apps are running 100% stable in WinXP, and Vue 4 only crashed with these animations. :) Anyways, I will be ready to make Vue 4's review and it should be ready within a few days...and yes I will note that it's been tested under WinXP! :) Cheers!
