I am fairly famiiar with Carrara. But since Im going from version 2 to 4, I wanted a little extra help. I have ordered the Handbook (cant wait to get my hands on it). Since its not my first introduction to Carrara I dont think the Cd is absolutely necessary. Well see after Ive gone throught he handbook. I have read on the forums at 3dxtract that there is some kind of issue with that airplane tutorial. Hopefully with the forums here and at 3dxtract I should be able to work through it. Cheers, H&B

Well, I decided to forget about the CD. I went through a few more of the sample quicktime files and wasnt impressed (not 100 dollars worth anyway). I decided to get the Carrara Studio 3 Handbook and some of the 3dXtract back issues. It's cheaper but the content seems superior. Thanks everyone for the input. Cheers, H&B

I had a look at the training CD. Listened to a few of the samples. It appears well done, but rather basic info stuff, at least in the samples on the site. The good stufff I guess might be in the sections that arent in the samples. Any comments on the CD? Is it worth the 100 bucks?I like the whole Quicktime approache, Im just wondering about the actual content. Is it just a quicktime version of the manual or is there more to it? Thanks, H&B

Thanks guys, thats pretty much what I suspected. I.E.: that the performance hike might not be on par with the price hike. This would ne my first PC, coming from a MAC world. I want to make sure I make a well researched purchase. :o) Cheers, Max

Thanks kedar. From what I was old by the photoshop user helpdesk, the best way to do this is to make a multichannel image. If you're curious this link explains how to go about it: http://www.planetphotoshop.com/PeteBauer44.html Cheers, and thanks for the reply. Hops
