Each light source squares rendering time. I would get rid of all those candle-lights since they aren't actually sheding light/shadow on the scene anyway. Just make the flames volumeric, glowing mats on simple objects.
Thread: Help, Continual Crashes! | Forum: Bryce
One of my files got corrupted, too. The error said "invalid page fault in module msvcrt.dll...." No idea what to do.

I've been working on a very detailed, huge castle too. Check the archives for some older pics. It's come a long way since then, with full interior rooms, openable doors, etc. Should be done in about a month or two.

Thread: *.3DMF to *.3DS? | Forum: Bryce
I have tried countless apps in Windows, and have found that Polytrans is the ONLY conversion program that translates .3DMF to .3DS. I believe the reason there is a problem with converting is a binary/ascii incombatibility issue between the file types and programs that import them (like Bryce). You can get a demo of Polytrans from their website (I don't know the URL), but the full version is $300-400. If anyone can help us on this - I am desperate, too!
Thread: Questions - Kilts and Costumeshops | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I purchased the Costume Shop, and it is very impressive. The robes and tunic are really good, the props are okay. In fact, the tunic bottom makes a great kilt. Worth the money.

Thread: Looking for a sphinx-model | Forum: Bryce
I have one, but it's from a site that no longer exists, and a questionable one at that. We're not sure who's models were posted on it. Email me at ihawk29@aol.com for more info.
Thread: Sad news of a dear friend | Forum: Bryce
This is a loss for all of us. My mother past away several years ago from cancer. I am very sorry for the loss you have suffered. In the next year, 48,000 women will die from breast cancer. We must all do our part and support the cancer societies, financially or otherwise.
Thread: Re: Video Card Upgrade | Forum: Bryce
Bryce does not support video acceleration, so it won't really matter much. I have a 32 meg ATI card, and it is no different than built-in video, except for games. I think PhotoShop gets a big boost from fast cards, though. As far as video I/O, that all matters on what quality you want and your budget...you get what you pay for.
Thread: A call to arms... | Forum: Bryce
I don't have any complaints yet. I just can't believe rendering time has been SLOWED DOWN??? WHY? I don't notice any differece in the quality, just the time it takes to render.

Thread: Castle WIP | Forum: Bryce
Nice! I've been working on one for several months out of Bryce primitives. Now I'm going through and changing them to imported objects so that I can export the whole model when I'm done. It's a 20 meg Bryce .obj and growing! I don't think I'll ever finish it!
Thread: Ninja Outfit? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a Darth Maul character somewhere that might work. He gas some kind of baggy outfit that may be what your looking for.
