I feel your pain, I have this issue with nearly every scene I load...

Thread: Cloth simulation not working as expected | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
ps: The first frame of a simulation takes a little longer to calculate, if you reach frame 3-4 and its taking longer than, say 10seconds(depending on your computer), stop your simulation find and fix those 'jaggies' before continuing.... no need to waste time waiting for simulation to complete.

Thread: Cloth simulation not working as expected | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Try this:
In the cloth room(with your cloth item selected) select 'choreographed group' and remove all, do the same with 'constrained group' , multi-grouped vertices is a no-no.(the Choreographed group Has another function other than what you're intending.)
Now in the constrained tab select the vertices on the leading edge of your cape you wish to remain glued to your character, usually only the first or second row is plenty to get the job done.
Test your simulation:
If you see errant vertices(jaggies) select those vertices (BEFORE Clearing the simulation) and add them to the 'soft decorated' group and re-simulate.
If you're still not satisfied with the results, go to 'simulation settings' and change your 'steps per frame' to '4' and re-simulate. If that doesn't do it try 6, 8,... you get the idea...
NOTE: If this item is for personal use in your own animation, the steps outlines above are fine, If however you want to market the item, and you have errant vertices, you're selling a defective product that needs to be re-worked.
Y'all have a great day.

Sorry Red I took your post above to say you'd already ordered a 3060 12gb...My bad...I’ve already ordered it, just waiting on other parts that should be here any day now. Watching the tracking like a hawk
As NikKelly said above

Wow, these new GPU cards are literally an order of magnitude more powerful, and all that extra G-RAM must certainly help !!"
Im looking at grabbing 3090ti in the near future, just waiting to see if the market keeps trending downward, Newegg has 19 in stock at $1999.99, I probably should go ahead and grab one.

Thread: Mat Room, Image Map Dialog CRASH (macOS) | Forum: Poser 12
I'm not sure if this is relevant , but I've had this kind of issue with a few items Like the queue manager. Turns out that the dialogue boxes were there all along, just off screen on another monitor.
I suspect the team setting this up may have been using multiple monitors and forgot to readjust for single monitor users....
Just a thought...

Howdy Red, its me again...
Did you render the dragon scene above with a 30 series GPU? If so would you mind posting your render settings here?
I don't wish to offend, but if you're using a 30 series GPU It probably shouldn't take more than 5min(Possibly less than 2min or even 1min) to render that scene regardless of how complex it is.
It may be time to think outside the box, having great respect for the render Guru's frequenting this venue...this ain't quantum physics... Optix rendering on 30 series GPU's is a whole 'nuther smoke from what we've gotten used to previously...... Bigger Better Faster is the flavor of the day...
Lets hash this out, rite here in the public forum using your Dragon scene above as a test bed...Shouldn't take more than 10-15 min of your time each day/week/month if you're game. If you don't wish to participate its totally OK, I'll drop it no problem,
Here is my suggestion as a starting point.....
Its important that you enable noise reduction in PostFX, I know how you(and others) feel about NR, just humor me on this and(if you're willing) I'll show you how to fix it.
Render the entire scene leaving nothing out...The first draft may be ugly, but post it anyway so we can track your progress. If it takes a week or more for you to get around to it, I don't mind I'm retired now, and I have the patience of a Pope....LOL

Howdy Red.
When you're ready to upgrade that RTX 2060, I recommend the RTX 3060 12gb version. The 3070+ GPU's are a bit faster but most have less V-ram and as you know their cost is ridiculous for the slight gains. I ALWAYS render huge scenes , never a hiccup, in fact I'm rendering 2 huge animation scenes on the same GPU simultaneously(Q-manager + native Poser render) as I type.

Thread: Queue Manager bug? | Forum: Poser 12
I've been using queue manager for months with no problem, until yesterday... I started experiencing the issue above ... How is it possible that this happens suddenly without any update to Poser or queue manager? I did recently have a windows update(win10) could that have anything to do with it?
Has anyone found a fix or work-around for this?

I'm running two monitors, LG 48" 4K oled TV main and a 32" 1080p secondary . I'm not having any issues.
EDIT: A deeper look reveals the resolution on the 4k is set to 1440.

Thread: Duplicate renders, annoying and wasteful | Forum: Poser 12

Poser renders to a temp.exr, before saving both files to disk : "C:\Users\JAFO\AppData\Local\Temp\Queue Manager\12\quRender 3 213.exr". So its actually writing 3 files to disk.Last I checked; Cycles/Superfly needs a complete render before it can denoise the image. Can't denoise till you have a noisy image to begin with. If you are worried about drive life for your main ssd I would suggest you use a second drive to store Poser's and any other images you will be post working on as denoise is only postwork on a finished image. You will never have the first image not happen if you expect the second one.
All I'm asking for is the option to turn the duplicates off. Most people work many hours, days or weeks on a single image, so having a duplicate is no big deal. In my case we're talking THOUSANDS or TENS OF THOUSANDS of images written to disk, in just a few weeks. I don't know of any Independent artist who can afford to buy new storage devices at that rate. I render to a new Toshiba 6tb high speed HHD, at ~$200 a pop it wont take long for the expense to become Unmanageable.

Thread: Poser 12 development roadmap? | Forum: Poser 12
Ive had "OUT OF MEMORY" issues going back to at least to Poser 4. I've always prioritized having Boo-Koo ram in my machines so that's never been the issue. It happens when I'm smoothing out animations, like when I wish to make changes to a specific key on one or more figures (I key every 5 frames) its necessary to blend it in by deleting and re-keying several keys in both directions, forward and backward till I get the desired results. Sometimes it takes awhile, many iterations back and forth.... then BAM out of memory, crash to desktop... In preferences I have undo set to 5, seems like that would alleviate the problem but it doesn't. It seems there's a memory limit encoded in the software somewhere.
I've done extensive testing and monitoring (keeping task manager running on another monitor). I made a test scene with one figure set scene frames to 1000, then re-keying figure to interval of 5.
I then proceed to step through the keys(Tab) hitting keyframe minus then keyframe plus, all the while watching memory usage. I nearly always get to frame 500 (100 itrations) before the out of memory issue occurs. Task manager says I'm using 16gb of 64gb consistently.
It would be great if (like Adobe) Poser had a tab in preferences that allowed you to set limits for memory usage.
As mentioned this is a long-term problem and is not caused by the Bondware Poser team.
If you're an animator, I don't recommend the above method for smoothing animation unless its short segments. For longer animations (I Routinely have animations of 5000-10,000 frames) I have another method I can outline if anyone's interested...

Yes USD is open source, and while its true not all animation software can or will recognize the rigging system of others, the rigging is preserved as exported meaning...If you export a USD file alter in another program(eg: Omniverse/ Unreal, or other) and need to return to the original program, riging remains intact for further refinement... Round trip if you will.In this context, USD, for such as me who thought, "Huh ? $$$ ??", is Pixar's 'Universal Scene Description' file-format...
Open source !!
As I understand it, does not provide a 'portable' rigging system, but allows multiple different types of graphics to be combined. Sorta 3D equivalent of toons' 'Cels'...
USD's strongest suit(for me and some others) is in movie making, the ability to move scenes around , picking up elements that are best implemented in various software and combining them in powerful render engines(so called realtime which isn't really realtime, but that's a rant for another venue).

Poser needs .USD import/export... Everyone else is heading in that direction, without it Poser is stuck in the mud IMHO.
Hang in there Red, NO permanent solutions to temporary problems, PLEASE!!!

Thread: Weird lighting problem | Forum: Poser 12
My thoughts are that somewhere/somehow there's a green component in the mix... R1+G1+B1= white... or perhaps there's so much combined intensity it over-rides individual components... I think I'd try giving the scene a pleasant low light ambience before adding (small) spots for effect..... Just a thought.
