Can't this be done in the heirarchy editor? You add a prop and parent it to the body somewhere, then open the heir editor and select create new figure?
Thread: A Better Better Baby Face (second try) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's OK. I've been there done that as well. I never take anything from just one perspective. I usually re-read comments and pick a point of view that makes it sound more constructive, because I know that no one here would make an insulting remark about someone else's posting. Newc

How 'life size' are we talking here, three to five feet in length, or more? For me it's guitars, but the cords run everywhere. My room looks like a snake pit ;-) Newc
Thread: New Zygote prop up. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Probably, unless we really rag them hard about the quality and they get offended by it (like we almost did to the Poser freebies a while back - remember that one? It started with the Monkey-face morphs and the ComputerGuy)
Thread: Tired of that Ugly Baby Face? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, so now I know I'm not the greatest in the world ;-) Honestly, I saw a major difference between the two, especially when I adjusted the Worry Left and Right and put a smile on its face. Being side by side in the above pic they do seem to be twins, but I think that's because of the single camera directly between them, instead of two center shots spliced together in PSP (like I should have done, but was too lazy to do). Tell you what, I'll fix it tonight and spend a bit more time doing it and add even more magnets so it'll actually look better. Sorry for the inconvenience. Newc

Also forgot to say that adjusting the Worry will get rid of that Damien Thorne scowl. I tried to export it as a morph target (OBJ) but when I imported it the kid's head was moved forward a tad, so I just zipped the CR2 and RSR. This seems to happen to every morph target I make, anybody know why? I haven't edited it or opened it in any other programs, just export and Add Morph Target.
Thread: New Zygote prop up. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Has anyone else noticed how some of Zygote's recent freebies have been rehashes of what has been posted to the FunStuff a few months ago? Bushi posted a poseable backpack sometime around March (maybe?), then they had the articulated skeleton, which I admit is better than the standard Poser skeleton, but someone at least added teeth to the P3 model a few months ago, then there was the knight, which has been done, the helmet, sword, dagger (with morph targets, even) and so on. I'm not saying it's a BAD thing, just a bit peculiar; like they're saying "Well, that's a good model, but we're the professionals and here's what we can do". Anybody else agree, or have I just rammed my foot into my mouth again?
Thread: When i group a Terain and a Lattice i cant export it in Bryce 4 how can i fix? | Forum: Bryce
I did the same thing. I was trying to export things besides terrains, so I grouped a sphere to a terrain, then exported it as three different types, then opened them in other apps, but all I got was a terrain. If the object has the 'E' (edit) function available, click it then hold ctrl+d and click the check on the edit window. This brings up an export dialog. Now can someone tell me why the hell Meta hid this VERY important function, and why the export options are so limited? That's gotta be the single most non-productive 'bug' I have ever heard of.

According to the book, a higher map setting increases the quality of shadows, particularly on close-ups. I have to try Anson's idea: I've used it to specify limits on other things, but for some reason never thought about the lights.

Thanks. Guess that officially makes me a moron ;-P If I could keep track of everything I downloaded and where I got it from, I'd be Dustin Hoffman in 'Rain Man': I wouldn't know who the President was, but I'd be able to account for every mug of hard drive space 8-) Maybe I'm just unorganized.
Thread: Need scanning/texture 101 help please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yer welcome. I've spent considerable time using PSP with Poser (but you'd never tell it by what I turn out of either), and my brother and I have learned tons about it, usually through trial and error, or happy accidents, but we hardly ever open the book. Whenever I do I find some reason that I wish I had read it LOL. Newc

You can select an area of the template with the point-to-point tool, then copy the scan to the clipboard (even if it is larger than the template), paste it into the selected area, and PSP will resize it to fit inside the area, and it usually comes out pretty good. If you do resize anything (scan, template, etc) the PSP book says to use Bilinear Resample for shrinking and Bicubic Resample for increasing. I ran across that the other day and it sure solved a lot of problems I was having. Newc
Thread: Poser is wierd... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't tried both reflection and transparency together, so maybe that's it? Try doing without one of them, or adjust the intensity of the reflection map. Also play around with the two check boxes. Then again, it may be trying to render a transparent area that is also reflective, so try to make your reflection map the opposite of your trans map.

Perhaps you should see someone about that ;-P Just kidding. But you're right, they are capillaries.
Thread: import error in poz4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That basically means the same thing I get, which is "This file contains no recognizable 3D objects", or something similar to that. I've had three errors that mean the same thing: this is not a 3D file.
