Just a kidney stone which is not yet eliminated. Oh, and I won't have my own computer till I get a job and get mine back. That means no Poser till then, and I'm going nuts. I hate using someone else's computer. I have determined to buy a laptop as soon as I have enough money. It's easier to find room for a laptop!
Thread: I have a question about the reference manual for Poser 5. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for your great response. I know what you mean about being busy. I spent the past two days in the Hospital Emergency Room. And heck, I haven't been able to touch Poser for a month or more.

Tee-hee, you really don't know me. Let's just say I speak from experience. "I've been there and done that."

So if someone gives you a gift, but throws it in a pile of shit in front of you, you should say thank you. You just don't get it!

Tee-hee, I actually bought one item from BTScluptor. I couldn't figure out why the Millennium Kid's teeth looked dirty. I got out the magnifying glass, and discovered a copyright notice written across the teeth! I notified the guy privately, and he said none of his beta testers ever saw the problem. I said "All you had to do was make the kid smile. Would you like me to be one of your beta testers?!" I received no reply to that comment, but did receive the corrected texture map ASAP.

You might want to read my message, then read between the lines. We already know there are many ways to question insult, or challenge generosity The integrity issue lies in associating oneself with a web site host that lacks integrity. I choose not to indulge such practices which might detract from my own integrity by association. You can quibble all you want, but those popups will irritate and inconvenience people unnecessarily.

Some people do pay to "give something away." That's because some people object to the under-handed tricks that some of these free web site hosts use in their advertising. Some people would see that as an "integrity issue." Besides, you can get a 300MB web site for $35 a year. That's not much compared to the amount of money many of us spend on Poser stuff. Those of us who object to these under-handed popups are not ungrateful. We just don't like to endure that crap in the name of "free stuff."

Has anyone ever thought to ask "Why RED hair," and not blonde, brunette, etc?! I see nothing wrong with links to a site. That way folks know "the source," and can add the link to their Favorites or Bookmarks list. By why in the heck does this guy keep on doing this?! How many of us are so irritated that we've already decided to boycott him?!
Thread: P5 Where to install? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use a 20GB hard drive for Windows XP, and everthing but Poser. Poser 4 is installed on a 30GB hard drive, while Poser 5 is installed on a 40GB hard drive. I like to use simple installation paths such as "Poser4" & "Poser5." That saves a lot of work whenever I install something. DAZ stuff is fantastic because the installation automatically searches for "poser.exe," and allows you to choose which one gets the DAZ installation.
Thread: some sense to poser files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I know what you mean about hard drive problems. I have one drive that seems to die for awhile, then come back to life just when I'm ready to give up. Unfortunately that is the drive that has my entire Poser 4 installation. The drive chose to die just before I left home. It'll be awhile before I live at a place where I can setup my computer once I send for it. My first priority will be to have that drive replaced under warranty. OH, the name of the program is CORRECT reference. Just do a search in Renderosity's Free Stuff for hogwarden, and you'll find it.
Thread: Storing Files in "Read-only" Questions, How do you tag your files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for supplying the link for others. I'd seen a few other catalog programs, and had troubles understanding them. Unfortunately most of them don't have any documentation, and that leaves me dumbfounded (spelling?). I'm a little slow to learn software sometimes.

PBooost is an essential utility. It's great for Poser 4! PBooost is not yet ready for Poser 5. You can make use of Poser 5's ability to handle sub-diretories. Just use your file manager to make some coherent sense of everything. I made folders for the major characters, then made subdirectories for things like their MAT Pose files, hair, etc. Each time I install something new, I take control and put the items where I want. I also make "themed" CD collections of everything I buy or download (commercial or free stuff). Mike has his own CD's for characters and clothes. So does Vicky, Stephanie, etc. If you want to catalog all that stuff, look for Offline CD Browser, a free program. I forget the link, since I am not at my own computer for awhile.

I'm glad to help, in any small way. There is a great program out there for cataloging your stuff. It's called Offline CD Browser. It's free! I'm not at my own computer right now, so I can't find the link to the site. I'd recommend that program for ctaloging your collection.

"The file not found" problem is not a Poser problem, it is a problem caused by the artists who put together stuff with incorrect texture references. Why not tell these artists to fix their stuff!? Or you can fix everything yourself, using CorrectReference. Of course, you will spend many hours working on the project.
