I seem to have missed the whole "who stole what from whom" part of this topic that started at another forum. Could some one either link me or summerize? If for no other reason than that I may have quiestionable product and not even know about it.

I disagree entirely. The closest comparison to any real world market is the 12" action figure Market. If it was going to run dry it would have done so decades ago. Barbie has been around for almost 45 years. GI Joe, hit 40 about 2 years ago. While not always staying fresh, or even the best quality, they have stayed in business. And there's the new "kids" in the industry. There's Ultimate Soldier by 21st Century Toys. Blue Box, who's CyGirls can barely stay in stock. Japanesse import Dragon. If there is anything stagnant or burnt out in the Poser community, it's been the actual program that has seen no upgrade for three years, and then a very poor one that barely worked. Even there look at all the advancment that has been made basically by hobbiests. Material poses. MORph Poses. Morph Injection. JCM Morphs. Erc Morphs. Object Remaping. All kinds of cool stuff i just can't think of. Poser animation is still a small untapped market. Wait until some one comes up with a Rag Doll physics simulation. Or AI plug ins for D|S that give certain figures automatic behaviors. There is lot's more to discover here, and we still haven't even touched on what happens whent he regular Joe figures out how much fun it is to play with action figures again. DAZ should do an AOL style give away of DAZ|Studio with RRMike and RRVicky. "Poser" is a niche market of the general 3D market right now. But if enough people get their hands on it, D|S can open it up to an audience who never knew it existed. The well is dry? I just think we haven't seen the ocean yet.

I really like both versions, but the hood is still a little too tight at the neck. I sume the light blue is the neck group. You need to morph it so the collar is almost laying down, but only at the front, then widen the hood so ther is some space on either side. Another note is that any winter coat with a hood like that would have some way of closing the neck up. most of them have a little flap of material to snap the collar closed. Even with out the hood most modern winter coats have that. because the neck is place that looses a lot of heat. You should also have the fur material zone extend all the way to the bottom of the jacket collar. Don't mean to nit pick. It's just really cool and I think it's worth adding some detail too.

I really like this set. I agree with the hood comment though. It seems unnaturaly tight around the head. In hood you catually want a little air space between the head and the hood to trap heat. If the hood is that tight it doesn't provide as much warmth. I've included a quick graphic of a morph I think would be nice for the hood. Give it a more loose fit. Also a hood down morph would rock. If I can make the hood invisible and just have the jacket act like a collared coat that would be great too.

I've basically written Poser off since version 5. But one concern is that this new Shade deal will mean only Shade get's future integration tools. I'm still waiting for a REAL Lightwave pluggin before I even consider Poser 5. It would be good if E-Frontiers gets C-Labs to do a completely new code base for Poser. I was ready to spend $500 on a GOOD version of Poser 5.

You have to take several things into account. If MOST of humanity were hommiciadally cruel to children they wouldn't exist. If you'v ever gone "Awww" at picture of kitten... that's your genetic programing talking. While many animals can generate sound, only humans have developed the intricate language system. If whale songs were repeated, and the song outlived the first recorded singer of that song, that would be proof of information being passed on from generation to generation. Until that happes, there is no proof that the song contains any long term data, or that data is percived as language. The other feature of humanity is the ability to overwhelm our genetic responces with conditioned ones. I personally belive mankinds self destructive natrue is simple a housekeeping responce to our over population. We grow out of control, we get sick and die off to managable numbers again. As a population grows, there will always be an average number of mutation that change the rules. Criminal behaviour in many cases has been tracked to frontal lobe damage. Either post birth or genetic. We are also designed to be preditors. two eyes that face forward are solely there to "range" prey. Canine teeth exist to rip flesh and eat meat. We are Omnivours, so we don't have to kill ALL the time, but we are all designed to be killers. Society is the missing factor. No creature has developed a more complex society in the history of our world, and our social structure has become so prevelent that it is bound to be effecting our natural selection at this point. Even an animal can go "insane" where it act against it's nature of forms a fetish on a certain aspect of it's nature. We already live in age where scoial engeneering is practiced globally.Thread: E-Frontier buys Curious Labs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bottom line. Daz|Studio: Actively being developed. Created to work with modern hardware, and modern techniques in 3D (Weight mapping). Future enhancemnts and features already listed. Not the company's flagship product, or sole source of income. Poser: 3 Years of little to no development. A very poor 5.0 upgrade that broke the promises to support modern day hardware, and fix bugs in 4.0. An upgrade that culminated in laying off most of the programming staff. Removal of features that allowed integration with other high end 3D apps. And Poser is C-Labs main source of income. When you application is SOOOO bad people are cheering for competition that hasn't been created yet, you ARE in trouble. The only monumental blunder even close to this Microsoft themselves who have become so hated that people are turning Linux into a viable OS out of, pretty much, spite. I hope this new merger means Poser 6 will be the modern day bug free app that we all expected Poser 5 to be. D|S is PROMISING to be the answer to my prayers. Poser is just sitting there silent and ignoring me. WHen that changes, I'll be happy to jump back on the Poser bandwagon.

I still miss my first cat. Pegusus was a black and white mutt of a cat. We grew up together. One night we were all sound a sleep, when suddenly the TV went on in the living room. All the human member of my family were accounted for, so we ran out with whatever eapons we could lay hands on. Sitting in the middle of the living room floor with his paw on the remote was Peg. He turned and lookd at us with an expresion that could only be a mildly annoyed "What?" Then he turned back and KEPT watching the TV. Dad went over, picked up the remote, lowered the volume and said "Keep it down. It's late." Peg lived to be 23 years old. He was reasonable active for all of them. His last 7 years he had diabeties, and need insulin. (It REALLY runs in my family. Even got the cat!)In his last month, he started jumping in peoples laps. He dug out a ball and string and we played with him like he was kitten again. He worked so hard to get our attention we were almost annoyed, but we all took time to play with him. We soon found out what he already seemed to know. He was saying his goodbye's. That last week he crashed hard. I spent his last night on the floor with him, gently stroking the back of his neck. I never had a better friend. Hopefully he'll put in a good enough word for me to keep me out of hell when I go to join him. Whatever furry friend is at your side, give him a scratch behind the ears and tell him Peggie' says "hi".

geoegress, you were almost on your own with this one. Lyrra and Cresent made the site policy clear. It was not the mods that raised holey hell at your post. But a couple of knucklehead members. Your topic was kind of unclear and it reads like your complaining about the Mods. I think the best idea still is to use your best judgment on setting the flag when you post. If the mods don't like it, they'll just re-flag your post. I think that's compleatly reasonable. Even if I don't agree with the mods judgment 100%, so what? If it bothers me that much I should leave. If that bothers you too much. Get your own webspace and just post links to it. That way any percived nudity is not "IN" the forum, and therefor not R'osity's concern. I think this subject has left "Poser" topics and now belongs in "Community Center" topics. Silke, I am the one who compared people to Nazi's. I'm sorry that offended you, but that's what I call it when some one tries to shout down my opinion because they can't present valid arguments based on reason. If you try to force your will on others, rather than convince them you are right with logic... you are using the same tactics that the Nazi's and other terrorist use to come to power. I will not give in to terror. Not to religious fanatics who fly planes into buildings, or loud mouth jerks who try and shut me up on message boards. Being told I have no right to question or discuss something is at least as offensive to me, as my calling the person who does that a Nazi is to you. Probably much more. It was THAT behaviour I called Nazi. Not the flagging of images. iamonk, your hairy butt is NOT nude. You clearly have pants and a T-Shirt on, thereby failing to meet the critira for NUDE. It MAY be indecent, but it's not nude.

Sorry Lyrra, I was typing my last one as you were typing your's. At least we have a ruling on the nudity flag. If the mods don't agree with our judgment it's up to them to set or unset the flags. If anyone has a problem with a post they think was inproperly set, contact the moderator. I will continue to mark any post I make that contains nudity with a flag as I feel it is needed using MY judgment. That's the best ANYONE can do. Try to respect everyone.
