Oh will do - I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for your curiousity! Yeah, when it goes beyond morphing in ZBrush it's really complex. Even morphing in there drives me crazy too sometimes LOL! :) I'm hoping I can get this adjusted with the morphing technique. As I can see the potential, it's just his eyes are super custom. I wish they'd update the other figuers with this feature. :)

Ah cool, I too use Cinema 4D but an older version and mostly for rendering purposes. What you're talking about sounds exactly like making a morph for it. I will have to try that and see how that works. I'll try it in ZBrush first, as I'm used to making morphs there.
Thanks again for the tips and your help! :)

Quote - Glad you managed to figure it out. :) I wrote that reply after my shift at work, didn't get home until 11pm! Anyway, as far as fitting it to David, you have two options that I can think of - manually refitting it with an external program (e.g. Blender), or using magnets. Magnets might be more versatile if you're planning on using expression morphs.
Unless someone who knows poser better can suggest something else?
Thanks! Yeah, that's one of the issues is that though I try my best to get it aligned to the eyes, parts of it stick out. I have ZBrush and Truespace. How would I go about "Fitting" it there? Unless I create a morph for it? I usually don't work with magnets or other ways of making things fit a lot so this is new to me.
Thanks anyways for your help though! Hopefully I'll get it fit to my characters eyes somehow. If it becomes presentable, I'll upload a render of it.

Okay nevermind, I got it working LOL! Thanks again for the help! The only problem I am having now with itย is actually fiting it to my characters eyes.

Quote - 1. Import the V4 mesh from the geometries folder
- Select grouping tool from the top bar in the pose room
- Click "remove all" to make sure nothing is selected
- Click on "add material" and then down to "7_Tear" (this part of the mesh should turn red)
- Click "create prop"
- Name it as whatever you want
- Select the V4 mesh in the object menu and delete it
- Select your tear mesh and navigate to the prop folder (also, you might want to set up the materials now so they load with the prop)
- Click the plus sign "add to library"
- Name it and click OK
That should work. If you want it to be smart propped, just parent it to the characters head and save it, and when prompted, press yes.
Hope that helps. :)
Okay I'm trying this now, and I've run into a problem. In the group editor there is no "7_Tear" showing up. However, if I click on"Show non-grouped faces" it shows up but grouped with the rest of the face. :(ย Is there any way to remedy this?
Thanks for your reply! Much appreciated.

Quote - Hi RnR, By the reaction you got so far, I think you got a lot of us stumped on this puppy--I see a lot of us folks grabbing V3 and V4 eyeballs and trying it.ย Well, maybe one person stumped -- me (however that's fairly easy to do).ย Jan
LOL! Sorry to confuse you or anyone here. But thank you for your reply! Much appreciated! :)

Welcome to 3D! :) The term "shaders" in "Poser" terms usually refers to the "node" features in the Material room. The "shaders" can bring out depth and realism to any figure. For example like BagginBill's VSS shaderย script/packageย here in this thread.
Here's a quick link attached to my reply to a forum thread here at Renderosity with a lot of helpful links. Hopefully this will be of some help to you. :)

Heya grichter,
I too had a similar problem when I first loaded VSS onto the figure. I had a bodysuit (for bodyhair) conformed to the original figure and it tried to apply VSS to that too. So for now, I load it on the figure before I conform anything else to it. It doesn't seem to effect most props that I've noticed.
I'm guessing that the lipstick issue has to do with how the bump map is set up originally on the figure? Does it look like the bump is too strong or does it do something else?

Okay, I got it to work. But I had to type it in, as picking it from the drop down list did not work. Now theย lower lidย looks normal. I used eyewhites as theย template to hook it up too.ย Thanks for the help :)

You're welcome. Nope. :( I've tried adding a rule, then using the copy. And vise versa and it still ignores it. I'm probably doing something wrong. Yeah, Eyewhite sounds good for the shine.
Yeah, that would be a good idea. Otherwise you have to load the whole thing over again to find it LOL. :P

No LOL. I just thought I'd sum up what I saw.... I'm sorry if this caused aggrivation.ย Please give me a little patience here, asย I'm notย as techie-minded. ;)ย ย I'm not purposely trying to be lazy... ย I knew I should've printed out the exact message as I know all too well this is a standard precedure for beta testing (and it's not like I'm inexperienced), but I was currently fiddling around with it and that would require reloading everything.
But, I have reloaded everything now soย I couldย give you the proper error message:

I put in EyeSocket, yes. However I didn't connect the rule to copy node. I'll try that.
EDIT
I've tried adding the eyesocket rule, then a copy node and it still gives me the "No rule matches zone EyeSocket - skipping." error.
Thanks,

Quote - You could make a try though by using your bump map as a specular map. It won't be as accurate as a specular map, but it could worth the try :)
edit:
Don't forget to invert it. The dark area won't show the specular, and the white ones will drive it. So the brows must be black ^^
Vince: Wow, cool! That's a good idea! I'll have to try that. Thanks for the advice and tips!
BagginsBill: I tried to add a "eyesocket" node, but it keeps saying it can't find it so it will ignore it, or something to that effect. So his lower lid still looks funny. :(

Quote - RnRWoman -
A V3 specular map won't fit as the specular won't be at the right places. The eyebrows shape is surely not the same for both textures.
Ah, okay. Thank you, Vince. :)

RnRWoman - what zone is the edge of the eyelid - I probably don't have a rule for it. Which means VSS didn't replace the shader there.
I believe the edge of the eyelids must be using "EyeSocket," as I can't find anything else that looks like it pertains to it or would be even close to it.
Quote - Regarding the eyebrows turning gray - that's probably because of specular effects being applied to the "skin" - which happens to not be skin but hair! This is why texture sets really should have specular maps. If that was skin, it should be showing a highlight. But not hair.
Yeah, that's what I thought, that it had to do with how the light is bouncing off of it. It looks cool in some lighting, but gets the grey effect in others.
Quote - I tried to connect the texture map to the specular if there is no specular map, but maybe I made a mistake.
I have a specular map to a texture for V3 (I'm using David so he can accept maps from V3 and M3) so I'm wondering if it'll work for my character here. I've tried to plug it in to various places, but I admit I have no idea what I'm doing with it LOL!
