A "No" here too. Actually I like the fact that we will know about the pitfalls and problems before we get it. Hopefully we will see some solutions too B).

Actually C1rcle if Stefy proves it is a copyright infringement you will probably be asked to delete the file, unless there is an agreement about its use. Sorry mate, but copyright material is copyright material. Legally there is a difficulty in enforcing something so hard to see when in use but morally you would be obliged to delete it. This happened a while ago with the "Barbara" freebie. Mark
Thread: attempting to create my first victoria texture need advice please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heres a tip which may be of use. As everyone has said you should add the template as a layer for guidance. This is sometimes useful as the top-most layer. If you are using a sharp black&white only template you can in photoshop use the magic wand to select the white areas and delete them. Switch the contiguous mode off before selecting one white area and all will be selected. This will leave the black seams only, the rest is 100% transparent. This can be put as the top layer, and will be visible at all times. You can reduce the transparency of the layer to make the black lines less "in-your-face". Having started creating my own textures recently I can re-iterate what others have said, that you have to learn the model. There are some places where the skin is stretched and squashed. With Victoria one example is under the eyes(stretched), another is the lips. Be aware that what looks like the inner part of the lip is actually the inside of the mouth. It is this stretching that causes some peoples lips texture to look fake as the white highlights on the texture disappear into the mouth. Save your multi-layered working texture in PSD, then you can use it in both Photoshop and PSP. Paintshop Pro has some nice tricks, you can create your own skin Patterns and textures to use with the airbrush, fill etc and bodyhair can be created in tubes. Lyrra
s mention of UVmapper is worth re-stating, even the classic free version is useful for generating your own custom sized templates, which are much "cleaner" than any JPEG versions. Good luck Mark
Thread: Why so few examples of dynamic clothing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can understand your concerns, plenty have been posted about various aspects, but hey in a couple of weeks we`ll be flooded with examples of the new Poser capabilities. Have you seen the P5 manual, posted as a PDF file at Curious Labs site? Not the same as anims or pics but it may be of interest.

Thanks for the info Pokeydots and timoteo1. B) Well, I wasn`t going to sit here grumpy so I drove home, got the e-mail, took the laptop (gotta love em) to work and bought the big guy. Changed the password too, phew! Sorry to see some are having trouble, but keep trying it definitely does work for others. Now to psyche up to get Strongblade, oh and the Vicky version, and some sort of warhorse, ah and a castle... and on and on until bankruptcy.

The new password is a pain, Im at work. Tried to log in and couldn
t. Now Ive got to wait until I go home. I hope this password can be changed back to my own one, I dislike sites that generate some random nonsense word that needs a photgraphic memory to remember. If you can
t change it or you don`t get the option to have it cookied DAZ is going to get less orders from me. This has put me in a sour mood for the morning B(
Thread: PBM dials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
PBM means "partial body morph" Essentially it is a dial that is controlled by another dial. For example on the thigh there might be a dial called "pbm_thigh-wide". It could be controlled by a dial on the hip called "thigh-wide", along with other "thigh-wide" PBM versions on the other thigh, buttocks, abodomen, shins etc. The reason to hide these PBM dials is you are only supposed to turn the control dial itself, wherever it is located. Hope this is clear enough B) Mark
Thread: No new undies for Vicki or "How are sales?" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I too have only bought one item, and that was a prop. It just seems pointless until Poser 5 capabilities are revealed, theres a ton of bought and unused items to explore in the meantime. If it is possible to convert clothes as has been stated then there are loads of items worth considering. I
ve ordered the upgrade, now Im just waiting for it to arrive. I
m very interested to see a few mentions of Victoria V3, how soon though?

Thread: Yes, but WILL P5 take advantage of 3D acceleration?? (Not what you think.) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not very technical here, but Poser is the only program that switches the fan on to cool my laptops CPU nearly ALL the time. Even Vue D
Esprit uses less CPU power and that raytraces.

This looks excellent. Very glad to see there`s going to be a Vic 3.0. For a certain P5 perhaps?

Thread: What size do you render at? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Djuke. Speaking personally I render large to print them off. I would only reduce the size to post onto a gallery, just for bandwidths sake. Rendering large and scaling down helps with things like sharpening the picture. It is easier to add detail to a larger picture and some of that detail still remains when you reduce it. Your example of 3000x3000 reduced to 800x600 is a bit excessive though, most examples above only reduce a small amount. As an example try reducing a digital photo, you will be suprised just how small it can go and still be identifiable.
