Ok girls and boys - crunchtime. I'm planning my annual holiday for April 2007. Who's in and who's out for Sedgefield - Easter Weekend 6/4 - 9/4/2007.
Let me know ASAP please, so that I can check out the accommodation.

Melen, I SO know how you feel! Go check at your local photography shop, you're supposed to get qtips that's made out of some kind of rubber sponge thingy. They clean up that dust in no time whatsoever. They're a bit pricey though. But then, I'd rather pay a bit of money than have sleepless nights over a filthy sensor - and I've been there before

Hey Joe,
I think the secret to making sure your sensor has no dust on, is investing in a proper blower. I've done exactly that and I haven't looked back since. And of course testing whether your sensor is clean as described in the previous thread is always a good idea. But man, lemme tell you, I get stressed endlessly when - after the third or fourth time of using the blower and cleaning the sensor and testing whether there's dust on - and it's still not clean. Then I just feel like packing it all up and putting my cam away somewhere in a cupboard and forgetting about the art called photography. LOL Yeah, that bad...

Ok, all this sensor cleaning talk just makes me so nervous it's not even funny. After returning twice to my camera technician, I had to figure out how to clean it on my own cause everytime I get my camera back, I find there's still dust on the sensor. So much for trusting your local camera store huh?

Valou, that makes us the same age. My b'day was on the 21st of September. I think it a good idea if we start to make notes of everyone's b'day.

Thread: Night shot - high iso vs high exposure? | Forum: Photography
Kort, I have a 20D and it doesn't shoot lower than 100 ISO. But then, I don't - usually - shoot higher than 100 ISO either And trust me if I tell you that my "professor" knows that there are cameras that has an ISO of 50. Most of the students' cameras though - don't :tongue1:

Ok, I just finished an intermediate photographic course at the National College of Photography and the fact that each and every professional photographer said time and time again is set your ISO on 100 and leave it there - ALWAYS!!!
So, I go with low ISO long exposure as well. Play with your apperture though and see what the effect on any lights on your captures do. You'll be surprised at the effect ;0)

Of course we're not! We had one seriously fun weekend! I've learnt a lot! I laughed a lot! I enjoyed each and everyone's company. I've made some really good friends (only made enemies with that aweful snake that was so nosy that Friday evening grins) I think we're a lovely group and I hope and trust that the rest of the SA Rendo members (and anyone who wants to join us next year) will make a plan and be there (in spite of the mampoer *giggle)

Vera, rather not talk to the Oom about when his cam is arriving. He's like a kid that can't wait for Xmas or his b'day giggle No patience whatsoever ;0)
I learnt a few things too! Andy showed me how a lens hood can take the sunspots away and even though I'm not sure he knows it, he showed me how the change of an f-stop can make the lights on an night photography shot sparkle. Thanx Andy!! And Oom Piet showed me how - even though I have a polarising filter on my cam - it actually works! Yeah, silly me :tongue2:
Herman showed us all how a tripod actually works giggles myself silly Vera showed me - after the weekend - how to make my presentation look better - Thanx tjom!!!
So I think overall we had a pretty good weekend! Everyone learnt something and that's why we were there right?

Go look there Vera. I do not think there's a lot of shops in SA who's going to beat these prices ;0)

And yes, I know about the sunspots. Got myself a hood for my lens in the meantime, so that won't happen again ;0)

@ Vera - not angry at all. Just stating some facts. I agree with you though on everyone putting a package together in their area that they want to go to. That's a splendid idea!!
So Wayne said Knysna, en Andrew agreed. Sue? Where do you want to go? Vera, and you? Tienie, you live in a pretty stunning area yourself. You have something to add here? Oom Piet & Herman? Where are you guys?
I would prefer to go to Pilanesberg. I'll phone them again and throw a package together and let you know.
