Thanks for posting guys, it's really interesting to see the difference in black and white a decent GPU makes. Also that Rhia's 970 beats Randy's 1080!
Thanks, Structure, nice script.
I like the Poser12 speed jump, hope the render still looks since with Poser12 - I can't test Poser12 until the Mac version comes out.
For a laugh I decided to try rendering it with branching turned on, it sure does look nicer but the render time was 85,120 :)
Yeah, these freebies from Jura11 are great and show how good the results from Poser can be. I think that bath needs someone sitting in it though ;)

and again...
it seems my install had created an additional installation and I do in fact have 11.3.818 installed after all.

Okay, again, I found all the prefs etc. in the "Application Support:Poser Pro" folder. Luckily I have a habit of backing up so was able to copy all the files back so my UI, default scene, library etc. is all back. Still can't help but wonder about the mythical 11.3.818

Oka...y I checked and there is apparently an updated Mac version available.
The notes say 11.3.818 - Released 2020-06-07 and mine 11.3.740
So I downloaded the latest version (or so I thought).
I ran the installer and my version is still 11.3.740 and it has overwritten/reset all my preferences.
I am rather peeved about this.
Can anyone tell me what has wrongly been overwritten so I can try and get it back?
At least running the installer has fixed the grey/blank render problem it seems.
Is there an installer for 11.3.818 anywhere?

100% agree with Azath. Killing off compatibility with all pre-Poser12 superfly products will be the end. Saying P12 cant be fixed to match P11 shaders is just plain incorrect. From a developer perspective Bondware had a choice to implement the new Superfly as a default “option” but it seems they chose not to. Bad move imho.

Does SuperFly work for you? I've just opened Poser 11.3 on my Mac and neither Firefly nor Superfly work for me anymore! I get the preview while it renders, but when it completes the render is blank/grey. These are scenes that worked fine for me the last time I opened them and the same for new scenes I create. Is this a Catalina issue I wonder?

It’s either by design (feature not a bug) or zero testing.
Either way, really poor form to be honest (I’ve had several decades experience as a programmer so I know what I’m talking about).
At the very least some backwards compatibility should be present. For example Python 2 should be an option in Poser 12 and Poser 13 move to Python 3 exclusively. Things should be deprecated for a while before being removed.
Hopefully Bondware will fix the shader issues and then Snarlys update will have a chance at working.

I tend to use a lot of legacy content. I used to use Reality as it gives such great results but decided I should embrace SuperFly. However, I find my use of legacy content in Poser 11 needs Snarly’s EZ-Skin. And now it seems Poser 12 breaks SuperFly shaders resulting in EZ-Skin not working as it used to. So I can’t see me upgrading until Bondware fix the shader issues, which are frankly not acceptable. Creating a scene in Poser 11, opening that scene in Poser 12, it has to render pretty much the same or Poser 12 is dead in the water imho.

Actaully I guess I could install Big Sur on an external drive, boot from that and test...

I’m afraid I can’t advise directly yet, but my other half was saying she was going to uodate one of her imacs to Big Sur, so if she does I will give it a test and let you know.
I’m thinking of buying one of these new Apple Silicon Macs to test Poser in too... but the fact that Poser 12 breaks lots of things over Poser 11 (new superfly cycles issues and snarly’s scripts not working) I might not upgrade to Mac Poser 12 when it comes out.

Plus the fact that you're on a Mac and next gen of Mac machines could be NVDIA or they could be AMD, who knows. Just wait till tomorrow to see what we can do in Poser when they have the PC version up for sale.
I'm pretty confident that the new Apple Silicon Macs will use neither AMD nor NVIDIA, they will be Apple SOC.
Given that an iPad is more powerful than my i7 4GHz Intel iMac, Bondware really needs to support the new Macs when they land.
Thread: Do we know if Poser 11 will get an Apple Silicon update? | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
3 years seems crazy long to me. I’m an XCode developer myself and expect it would only take days maybe weeks to update, I guess it might depend in part upon what 3rd party libraries are being used but I wouldn’t expect it to be a big job at all. Any timescale might be extended due to waiting for a 3rd party that is relied upon of course.
Now, moving to support Metal would be a bigger job and should also be done (should have been done by SM), but Bondware really need to have Poser updated for AS later this year for when the new AS Macs come out. Mac users have been basly let down by Poser’ development for too long.
Bondware silence only makes me think there won’t be another Mac update, ever.
