I agree that the sage is a marvellous flower..! It would have been impressive to be able to see the flower with the POV of the grasshoppers...

Beautiful..!
Subtle scratches and clear grains add too much, and this is almost like a b/w pencil scetch...
...A scetch, yet already complete as an artwork..!

These are beautiful, and I liked the colored one better for sharp green patterns on sharp green patterns and sharp green patterns on black (dark, better to say) background...
BTW, amazing plants, these ferns are..!

My dear Slynky, there really is nothing to forgive, and thanks for the post of negative scans..! :)
I don't know how much does it cost in your whereabouts, but look for it and if you find that it's affordable for you, than make these negatives of yours scanned with a "drum scanner" (or, at least a film scanner) in a local lab where these devices are available...
...You'll surely receive impressive resolution and quality with your scanned negatives, films, etc. : every sweet grain at your service..!
BTW, in the college that you're going to attend (or, have you started attending already..?), I guess it wouldn't be any problem for you to find the chance of using the scanners above (esp. a "drum scanner")...
...Go for it man, and make sure you post more of the results of your adventures with "The SWPC (Slynky's Wreck Pin-hole Cam)"..!
:)

Your scanner does some interesting effects on the scanned image..! And, I'm quite curious about the results you've achieved with your "wreck pinhole cam"..!

Michelle, when I first read your message here and saw the image, I hesitated for a moment as I remembered and thought that "polaroid emulsion lifting" and "polaroid image transfer" were the same... ...But, a short search in the net showed that they are quite related, yet have their unique differences. Thanks for letting me update my info about these subjects... :) As for the image here... ...I think this is realy beautiful, esp. for the borders, colors, and the blurred and tiny flowered foliage. Above is a link that I found while I was searching in Google for "polaroid transfer", yet you may already be knowing this...Thread: Clouds for stars. | Forum: Photography

My humble personal opinion is that the "still working on" version of this is better (the one you've posted to the gallery is open also, and I'm comparing), as I think that this particular version here is "scratched" and texturised more than necessary...
...Rather distracting perhaps, blocking the beautiful and valuable blurred foliage that is clearly seen in the "still working on" version.
Also, esp. the horizontal and long scratches look rather...regular.
Well, mine is surely just a humble and visual evaluation (as I really am unable to texturise in photoshop), but maybe some other type of "dirtiness", more irregular and less blocking perhaps...
...I think. :)

You know those "luxurious" mirrors which are generally encountered in the lobbies of hotels, in shops, etc., the mirrors which are made up of a number of narrow mirrors arranged as vertical slices..? In my country, you may also see them in barber shops, local fast food cafes, luxurious restaurants, etc. ... I find them rather "kitch", but the effect they make on the reflection resembles just what I'm trying to achieve, and I was definately influenced by those mirrors... My first experiences with this technique were 7-8 years away, and I used to slice two identical pictures with an x-acto knife and a ruler, generally the slices being 1 cm wide and the phase difference being 0.5 cm... ...As you may guess, this whole business was a serious pain in the ass, and was a tough test of patience. Then one day, in the "general news" pages of a photography magazine, I saw a picture that was exactly the result of the same manipulaton that I tried to explain: a high shutter-speed capture of a jockeyed horse hurdling over a barrier, shot directly from the side... ...It was impressive how the technique had given a terrific dynamism back to the freezed action..! I cannot recall whose work it was... Then, over the time, I saw other works or parts of works which were manipulated with this tecnique. So, though I found the technique by myself through self influences, it was and is already a rather known one... Really sorry for all these bla-bla, but couldn't help... :)

A few things more...

Thanks for the comments..! :)
The technique I'm applying to produce "sliced images" is infact a very simple one: successive copies and pastes...
Let me try to explain how it works...
Sorry if it took so long and got complicated, but when using a foreign language, it's quite hard to explain specific things...
Hope it was helpful...

And, dear Crystal, you say that the pic you show us here is a "goof"..?!
If you're trying to say that the result is "only by chance" (hence the "oops"), than understandable...
...But, I find the pic you've post to be a very fine one to show how "imbalanced" pictures can be superbly abstract and dynamic..!
Such results are generally achieved by chance, but working on them and getting lessons would provide a valuable and experimental way of approach to POV and composing, which in turn would provide a valuable technique to one's repertoire...
...I think.
As a personal critique, I would say without hesitating that the images I produce are generally "balanced more than necessary", and I would have liked very much to be able to shoot porposefully imbalanced pictures "knowingly"...
:-)
Thread: The Texture of Light | Forum: Photography
Very beautiful..!
Several layers of textures, patterns; beautiful light; nice composition...
...What more..?!
I liked how the linear shadows are broken on the window frame and the wall, some also curved on the dents of the outer wall (frame..?). :-)
