Thread: Summer Haiku? | Forum: Writers
Hey, nice work with radar! Our internet lines were down till yesterday evening, so no posting for me all these days. Nice to be back.
heat shimmer
hallucination;
my eyes bleed
There! Finally, a line with just one word. I've been trying to get a one word line for ages, but it's been like a mirage. Imagine a Haiku with just three words, one for each line! Who of us is going to get it???? :D
Sorry, 'bleed' s not too easy.

Hey! Drekinn beat me to it, so I'll modify mine instead, so it has a common last word. Â :)

Thank you Pat! It's good to hear that our wordsmithies are of benefit. :)
Best regards to you!
Hanevi.

Here's to you TwoP! :)
I just got news that a road-roller went over our power cables and now we're without electricity in 44 degree heat. So what are power cables doing where road-rollers can run over them? Search me! Today someone fell into an open drain outside and drowned. It's a madhouse here.

sun and sand,
blue, sparkling water,
then ice-cream...
Can't think of anything profound, so this little one to celebrate the simple, Ordinary. :)
Hi there, Margana!

earth baked hard,
sun's pitiless rage;
famine looms
I wonder if there will be deaths again in my part of the world...
Great work with 'caste', TwoP!

country bumpkins sweat,
office goers perspire too;
summer knows no caste.
Thanks TwoPynts!
'Perspire' could be 2 or 3 syllables depending on how it's pronounced. Sorry next! 'Caste' is a tough one!

Ha!
No lack of inspiration here!
Shall get down to the needful, unless run over by the Procrastination Bus, which roars around the corner, Â always a little later than you expect. :D
Thanks David, for the theme.

ablaze on my face,
molten gold from burning sky
sears my cringing skin
I've been out the last ten days. It rained all the time there, and it was misty and green, and the birds were happy. Now I'm back in soot-choked life in the fast lane. Hooray! :(

vital signs of life
colour my T-shirted back,
embarrassment seeps
But finally it's far too hot to really worry about how one's sweat looks. ;]

I don't believe I actually missed the second page all this time!!! (kicking myself)
You guys have been writing some fantastic ones here.
ok here it is-
sun weeping;
tears of scorching gold
colour me bronze
Sorry to whoever's going to do the next one. :]
I love the funny ones too.
