Quote - Where Genesis is concerned building clothing around a morphed shape is foolish to say the least, it has to be made to fit the gray golem otherwise you end up with crumple zones that wont go away.
As far as MD goes, load Genesis into a clean scene in DS and export it as OBJ, that will be your avatar in MD, build and drape your clothing around it.
You then export the clothing as OBJ and use the Transfer Utility on that in DS to rig it for Genesis, once rigged and conformed to Genesis you save it using "File > Save as > Support Asset > Figure/Prop Asset".
The other Genesis shapes are morphs, which means you need to create morphs in the clothing to get it to fit to those shapes.
And having to design girls and children's clothing on a six foot male is why I stopped using daz for the most part. I use to love daz and use it 90% of the time. However once in a while I will play with daz again but nearly always use poser now because I find it hard, "if not down right creepy", to try and designer a child's jumper on an adult man. That's how I feel. Just not my thing to dress a man in children's clothing. But each to their own. :)

Quote - When sending the figure to MD you need to reset the scale to 100%, since Julie is scaled down as well as morphed. Then when you bring the OBJ back into DS and use the Transfer Utility you need to set the Source Shape to Morph, then pick the Julie morph from the list, and in the More options area (click the button at the bottom of the dialogue if it isn't showing) check Reverse Source Shape from Target.
Thanks, I'll work on the scaling.

Hello,
V4 I think has the most clothing. Does your charactor need to be any set age or dressed in a set way?

This is what has been helping me learn. On this web site, poser web site and youtube you can find a lot of free tutor videos. I download the videos to my computer then burn them to a DVD that can be watched on tv. Then I can watch the tutors in front of a large screen tv and actually see what is being click and take notes. Plus it easier to fast forward, freeze and rewind when watching on a tv.
Of an evening I pop some popcorn and spend an house watching and rewatching videos.
Hope that helps
Kimberly

Quote - I'm not knocking that tutorial, it looks well worth the money, however, one PhilC's site are severa free tutorials on rigging for poser that are free. They don;t go into weight mapping but you might want to start with the learning poser falloff rigging then jump to the RDNA tutorial once you feel a but more comfortable. I learned originally to do Poser clothing from Phil's DVD MANY years ago and found his teaching style to be very easy to follow.
Here's his site
http://www.philc.net/index.php
I've been through Philc site many time as well as other tutors. I'm just can't get a dress to work correctly. I hoped to put the video on dvd to watch on my TV where I can pause and rewatch would be helpful to understanding what I am doing wrong.

Quote - > Quote - I've been doing some reading and weight map is more or less what I have been doing. Thanks ... Back to learning how to do a dress. fun fun
Poser 2012 Pro automagically transfers the weight map from the weight-mapped figure to the clothing when rigging in the setup room, since that's basically what the rigging is, anyway. (Or, it can do this with a simple toggle or a click. I haven't rigged anything in there, yet, but I've been playing with the weight-mapping existing on certain figures.)
Weight mapping is awesome, but it can be tricky to get it just right. For some applications, Poser's standard falloff zone's work pretty good.
I am looking at getting this tutor http://www.runtimedna.com/Poser-9-and-Poser-2012-Creating-Conforming-Clothing.html
Any thought about it? Is it worth getting?
