ohhhh you GOT a unicorn ... (now at home, looking at the pic) i think the lighting is the problem. should be softer somehow, and a bit more of shadow. but that is just an opinion.

usually there's the saying "google's your friend" but since i do not want to advertise for a certain search machine - let me recommend to use your favourite. now it's just a question to use the right key words. i tried "AVI MPEG editor free". got a fair list ... actually i use some linux tool, (forgot the name) so i am not good in commenting the capabilities of what you might find... also, searching something like CNET or similar freeware/shareware directories might help. i just hope this is still according to TOS. i'd hate to accidentally name voldemort again. sebastel

as far as i remember, there was a free horn at r'osity yesterday. use it to "convert" the poser horse... actually i did not look at the pic, sorry. would not be the best idea at the moment to do so (at work...).

povray offers quite an interesting approach to modeling material and surfaces. this was done with a set of macros freely available on the net. the surface is done with what is called "bozo" in povray (with some modification), imposed on an isosurface. since the pure refraction done with the material definition was not dramatic enough, i overlayed it with a "crumpled" normal map. no highlight bumps. export of poser figures made compatible to povray using posray (also freely available). so this is not the result of my work alone, but heavily relates on communities like this one. and one tip for those who are interested now to try on their own: povray is a language. it's not WYSIWYG, it has no graphical interface, but your efforts are rewarded! ;-)

i think i understand what you mean. i think also that this is a good idea. still i can also understand those, who find it hard to accept that doing what they think is "the same" is not regarded "the same" by the people who actually run this place and who are responsible for its contents. like i had to learn, that it is allowed to say "voldemort", but not "www.voldemort.com". well, that's OK with me, since i will keep my tongue (errrr, keyboard) for the sake of all the good i get out of this place. (and of course the good i hope to be able to give also). let "respect" be our motto.

leonardis, it is still POSSIBLE to do animation, but since you need to do it frame-by-frame it is really a LOT of work... ...

maybe changing the special leg movement morphs to joint controlled morphs would help? (actually not just kidding... i think i have a clear idea what i am proposing...)

AFAIK there is a problem with the need of "body"parts moving differently than the related parent body parts, especially the "hip". so it is kind of easier to make a skirt with morphs that control the skirt's actual "movement" instead of the conforming to the parent body / body parts. look into the morphs for the skirt, you will find special channels to conform to forward left leg, forward right leg and the like. hope this helps!
