That would be much better
Mon chapeau, sir!

Quote - Way funny, be interesting to know what sort of system specs they create that stuff on :) and whether it was rendered in FF or an external engine.....
Their 3D content sequences with full lighting, stage and set are rendered in Poser; in the case of Red vs. Blue, it's using the realtime preview rendered as a sequence of images. For RWBY it's a composition of toon shading preview renders, custom materials, rendered in layers and composited in post.
Quote - Impressive, but don't say all Poser, it's so very obvious it isn't, but impressive nonetheless.
In my staccato literary style I do say "all" but in paragraph three dig in a wee bit deeper and credit effects in post. All their starring role 3D elements are done in Poser, using custom tweaked or custom rigged characters. Monty Oum, the creator is doing at least one open panel for us at the RTX (Rooster Teeth's fan event) show this July in Austin, Texas. He goes into full detail on his use of Poser. It's remarkable to see how he gets these out of Poser. They have a site license of Poser Pro and have trained a dozen team members on Poser to execute new episodes for several concurrent series. They also have their own on-site mocap stage and Monty, along with a few martial arts friends actually do the choreography and fight captures.
How about "All" with an asterisk? ;-)

And the grand daddy, Red vs. Blue...Monty Oum the lead animator, along with Shane Newville and the rest of the team at Rooster Teeth turned the game of Halo into the top-dog of Machinema by getting Microsoft to lend them the game assets so they could rig and animate them in Poser to do comedy.
My favorite of the bunch is this one.

Just a quick bump reminder about tomorrow's webinar. Brian is a blast to listen to, and will be sharing some great techniques. Hope to see you guys tomorrow, and if not, no worries, the recordings are a great way to view the content according to your schedule.

Quote - Cool! Will you be recording & sharing it, for those who may be working at that time? :)
Yes - we will record the webinar and then repost a link to it. Typically it's about a week after the broadcast max.

Tom - thank you for this note and thread - yes we do read these and yes, commenting is challenging. My apologies for not being able to dig in more frequently.

Quote - Trust me Smith Micro is reading this thread. They are listening but if you think of it from their point of view what ever they say in public is taken as written in stone, so they have to be very carful what they say. So nothing in here is the safe way to go.
Also think that if they improve the software and you see it for yourself then that goes a lot farther than empty promises, right?
Also you have to know that Smith Micro has share holders that have to be reported to so the process can be a very long one. what gets asked today might be 6 months or a year before you see the results.
Also the changes have to be justified as a valid request that will suit most users not just a few.
Like my above request for a tick box to save the last selection might be a long shot to see it happen unless, (1) it is an easy change with little time involved = $, (2) It makes sense to add it.
So as you can see they do listen it is just not very often you will see a responce to the comments made here.
They are being heard. :-)
So keep those reports coming.
I am not discouraging the bug reports in the proper channels.
I just like the feedback from users such as yourself to see how my ideas are received.

Thread: Tyler - making clothes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you are going to use the Tyler CR2 as a starting point for clothing development, there are two useful tools in the Library's Pose>TylerGND>Specialty set. There's a Zero pose and a Turn Off IK pose. You can use both of these to zero all joints and body translations, and disable IK. Also you could zero the figure using the Joint Editor (button at the bottom) and turn off IK manually by Right Clicking on the figure and scrolling down to the IK channels and turning them all off.
And yes, I agree with Deecey, you could also use the OBJ.

Quote - I see it's free for P9 and 2012 users. Don't have either, so in the words of SM, Stuffit. :)
Come on, you know you wanna upgrade, you know I want you to upgrade, you know that Miki and Tyler want you to upgrade. ;-)
BTW - I read your post to our team today - it was really clever and made us giggle. Thank you for that.

Quote - I like her very much, but her feet are pretty clunky, particulary the ankle and toe bends...
What really helps the toe bends? Involve not just the actor we calll the "toe" but also use the actual individual toe joints. I know there is a pose pack of Miki4 foot poses in the works and the preliminary screen caps I've seen from that are pretty hot.

Quote - Yuppers, for sure, Teyon and Darrell did a great job. They worked hard, and it shows!
Agreed! FWIW, the core team who delivered Miki4?
The folks that worked on Miki3 plus these dedicated team members who actually delivered Miki4:
We've been on this project for a year, and it is very satisfying to finally be able to share her.

Quote - What's with the Miki default? I find her lack of nipples disturbing. Maybe there's a purpose for a full flesh, nipplless texture (aside from morally pure posing) but I'm at a loss to identify it.
Other than that, Miki is cute. There are lots of morphs to choose from. Weightmaps obviously aren't a panacea. I see issues that I've been struggling with for nearly a year in these recent figures.
Paloth - I urge you to read the .PDF user guides for both characters. They are installed beside the character's runtime. There are really detailed descriptions of everything included, operational instructions, morph lists, adivce about legacy morphs in combo with the new morphs, how the real-lashes work, etc. - if you've missed the part about the full genitalia material set, you're likely going to miss some other really useful things about the charcters...
Wierd eh? 38 and 44 page user guides for figures? :-)
