nice nice nice nruddock - I never even thought to try that. good idea and I appreciate it. Now all I need to do is skip out of work so I can go home and try it. :o)   Don't know if it would work but parenting foot to foot, leg to leg etc. "sounds" logical. make the skeleton invisible and boom.... it's worth a shot.
Thanks all - it's appreciated and I'll let you know if it works or not.
Thread: Tips for moving NON HUMAN poser models | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hm... interesting. So this way I'm not trying to move my figure on its own axis but I parent it to a "ball" prop and drag the ball to where I want the figure to move. That sounds like something worth trying... I'm still on the lookout for a third party "walk designer" though... maybe it's just the lazy in me. :o)
Thanks nruddock
Thread: Rendering: How long is too long?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK - good information, as far as size I left everything at default (quicktime/600x400? something like that) and set the quality to 'HIGH' - from your experiences is the quality of Poser animation still really good when you set them to medium or lower? I'd hate to waste 2 weeks rendering 5 seconds then the quality is not what I wanted.
Â
BTW - I left it rendering when I came to work today... I hope I didn't burn my mac out!
Thanks!
Thread: Help Me! Morphing for DUMMIES!! (that would be me) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Haha thanks ernyoka1 for the answer and the defense - I come here for answers, not lectures. I'm looking at the Poser manual right now and it's not helping - so I ask here. If someone can supply the answer I need (like you) then all the thanks in the world - in fact, the forum has been more than helpful and I will contribute the same way minus the condscending tone if I have something to add to a question. I wouldn't twist anyone's arm to answer any questions therefore, if one does not want to answer such "petty" questions - they shouldn't. Very simple, this forum is not a ditactorship or a regime as far as I know. Oh, and thanks again for the nice simple answer... found out what I needed to know without receiving a demerit from the principal. Rock on! :o)

Hello again, thanks for the advice. I have another question. I've spent about 3 hours tinkering with a figure (add on for M3) and I got him just the way I want.. but now I can't seem to SAVE the figure as a "Figure" (or whatever) so I can use him again - the next time I launch poser. So now the next time I turn on my machine I'll have to do it all over again.. There MUST be a way to SAVE a figure after you've altered them - you know, when you put the shades and the clothes etc. on them... should I have to do that everytime I want to use my figure? that would SUCK! Does anyone know of a nice 1,2,3 way of saving figures?? BTW - this " instructional" manual that came with the software is pure CRUD!! I've learned very little from it. Thanks! A frustrated Poser!

Yes, that's what I've noticed. After getting Poser and searching for cool clothes etc. what seemed like 80% of after-market features (clothes, gargoyles the FREAK etc.) Read: "Requirement - M3 OR V3" so that's why I downloaded those two. Now I get to use all of those cool characters. Don (P5) has lots of cool faces etc. but I've found zilch for him thus far and unless I plan on making films where ALL of the characters are Don then well... looks like I'll be dipping into the M3/V3 pool. The head/body morph combo sets for both M3 & V3 was only $49 - seems worth it if I can take that and make 50 different characters with it. :o)

Hey thanks a bunch, getting ready to purchase the "Michael Face/Body Morph bundle" from Daz... someone mentioned "face sculpt" for more faces? Any idea where I can find that or any other software that allows you to transform faces? (When I say this I don't mean transform INTO other characters, I just mean sneers, smiles, frowns etc.) I'd rather spend my hard earned cash on specific things rather than packs and software I'll use once or not at all once I get them. Thanks... learing poser is actually kinda fun when you can ask questions and actually get good answers! :)

You mean Daz didn't give me M3 free of charge because I was such a well rounded and pleasant person?? The nerve. - Thanks for telling me about the Michael Morphs, looks like I'll be buying some more stuff. About that, is there anything that allow me to tranform Michael 3's face in as many different ways as I can "tranform" Don's (the standard poser dudes) face? With the eyeballs and the moving mouth and the eybrows etc. Or am I stuck with the generic facial expressions from M3 and his compatible figures? And I actually have Poser 5. Does this mean those PMD files my Mac is asking for will never be found? I'm hoping the "Morph Pack" clears this up. But if not, any suggestions?

SVDL - I've sent you an instant message with what I'm doing etc. Let me know if you got it. Thanks a million!

Ooooh OK got it open and that's just what I was talking about. So that's Vue5? Hm, is there a place to purchase that kind of thing for a few bucks or would I have to buy/learn the Vue5 software? Also, can that clip you made just be imported into Poser or does there need to be some kind of process.. for example, you purchase a building from the marketplace on here... then you put these clouds behind it... is that a Poser thing? Thanks for the clip, now I'm all excited! :o)

Svdl, Is there a certain setting I need to view this file? I have the updated quicktime but it's not displaying. Argh!

Hi - looks like I'm a little late on this thread but I have a cloud question as well. I'm trying to figure out how to create "rolling clouds" - I'm not doing a single image, I want to make a short movie and I want the skies to have the dark, heavy, moving clouds.
any hints/tips/ideas where I can pick up something like this and maybe add it to my other stuff so that when I exported it to a movie file the clouds would be rolling? (without having to learn a new application) - it would be insanely cool if it were that easy.
Maybe I'd have to do this in an editing software(post-prod)like Final Cut? I have that (I'm on a Mac btw)

Thread: A Walk Designer Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK I think I spoke too soon - I'm tanking over here! This is what I'm doing (let me know if it's completely wrong) * create a walk path/apply walk * stop on 30th frame/add static pose * click one frame forward, add same static pose etc. Two things are happening, either: a. my figure slides all over the place while in static pose because the "walking" is moving him forward. b. if I keep pulling the figure back to the original spot of the first static pose, when he starts walking again he SLIDES forward about a body length to continue on from where he would have been if he'd kept walking... what gives?? At this point I'd just be happy to have him come to a graceful STOP. (instead of jerking from walking into the static pose! whew.. go poser eh? Help please?? Thanks!

Oh yes, this is good. Can't wait to get home so I can play around with this tonight! (it's a shame I'm on this Poser board when I should be working but... what can I say?? :o) THANKS!
Thread: Has anyone used DAZ Studio before? What exactly is it? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow, now THAT was the kind of information I was looking for. This forum is great. :o) And to Vilian, I am using a Mac (I love the PC too btw!) -- any idea on how I could import the "DAZ" figures into Poser on a Mac?? I will try running it from the folder where the Poser.exe file lives but rest assure I'll be back if that doesn't work!
