Over the past week or so I have been reading more and more about vue and I am amazed! This looks like exactly what I've been looking for. Next paycheck I'll have to pick up the older version they're offering online.

It would let us get more feedback on our work and help us improve. 3dcommune.com has comments in their animation gallery ;)

I've got something in the animation gallery. I have a few smaller things I should put on there as well. I'm waiting until I finish my current project, then I'm going to put together a website for all of my animations. Rendorosity should set up the animation gallery like the other galleries with comments and everything. That would offer more encouragement to submit.

That looks great Nemric, what software did you render it in?
I'm finally making progress on my cell shaded project again. I have all of the character animation finished and I'm just putting together the shots.
Thread: Walk on the wild side contest | Forum: Animation
Probably because we are all busy with our own projects. Somebody can go into poser and throw together a great looking image fairly quickly, but animations take weeks, or even months of work. I wish I could enter, but I just don't have the time :(

The simple solution is to do your backgrounds in bryce either as bmp or avi and use it as the background in poser. Don't show the poser feet or it'l spoil the effect. I did this the last couple scene on a music video/movie trailer I did a while back. Check it out at: http://www.ween.net/garmonbozia/boognish_movie.mpgThread: Recording voices | Forum: Animation
Ahhhh, this is more where my background is. My setup is indeed overkill for basic voiceover recording, I've actually got an entire home recording studio that I've used to cut CDs. I have a tube driven large diaphram condenser mic feeding into a tube driven pre-amp (I like tubes) feeding into a digital mixer that is plugged into my computer via fiberoptic cables. This is way way more than you need to get good voices recorded, so here are some tips for you... First of all, DON'T USE A STANDARD COMPUTER MIC!!! I've seen some absolutely gorgeous animations that made me cringe as soon as somebody spoke due to the crappy sound of a computer mic. Remember that the sound is half of the experience. A $30 radioshack mic and a cheep mixer or preamp plugged into your sound blaster will give you noticably better results. You can also find some nice freeware and shareware software for cleaning it up. EQ and especially compression makes the biggest difference. As tempting as it is, try to stay away from echo and reverb unless it's for a special effect. The main thing is to just keep playing around with it and expirimenting until you find how to get something you're happy with.
Thread: Poser 6 - Free drawing | Forum: Animation
Ya know, I never bothered with Poser 5. I tried it a couple of times, and it was just so slow that I couldn't do anything creative on it. With Poser 6 it looks like they're trying to fix that, and the new features look worth a look. Plus I'll hopefully be getting a faster system soon, so I might pick up a copy and see how it goes.
Thread: Animation Question on V3/Poser 5/V3 Expressions | Forum: Animation
Yeah, like Nemric said, but more specificly:
click the key in the bottom right to pull up the animation controls
use your mouse to draw a box and select all of the little green boxes for your figure's head (or to get more precise, expand the head controls and select only the blink parameter)
press the brown button to make all of the little green boxes turn into little brown boxes
your animation will now be linear based rather than spline (curve) based
hope this helps!
Thread: The FAQ | Forum: Animation
It's not really a question, but how about some 3d animation tutorials? There's not much info out there, and when you do a search you mostly find modeling tutorials with the ocasional "ok, now make it move a little" thrown in.
Thread: A new cartoon I've been working on | Forum: Animation
HAHA! he does look like he is air guitaring! It's funny, one of the projects I want to do one day is an all animated music video of a band playing live. Maybe I can reuse this animated pose? ;)

This was just too much fun not to share early! This is an animation of the guy after he hurts his hand. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
