I'll see what I can do about the windows, but I seriously doubt it. Most likely that'll require editing the model itself.. If I can do it without remaking the castle in 3ds, I will. Otherwise, it's not likely to happen. I probably will darken the haze, though not too much, as the darker the haze and clouds are, the less visible the castle is.. As for lightning, I tried fasttraxx's 3d lightning... They didn't look right in the picture. Thanks for the suggestions Adam, Roshigoth

Hmm... the roof tiles I made myself. I just drew them in photoshop, then applied a noise filter to make them bumpy looking. As for the walls, umm... I'm not really sure. I think I downloaded a jpg somewhere and made it from that. I can't remember where though.

hmm... Thanks tempest, sounds perfect. Umm... How do I do rain and lightning w/ bryce 3d. I know 4 has like a rain material or something, but I don't think 3 does. As for lightning, well... other than post render (which I'm absolutely horrible at) I have no clue where to begin. Thanks, Roshigoth

Umm... there's just one problem with tapering the columns... bryce can't taper. And the parthenon's columns are of the doric order, which don't have bases, and there are capitals on mine.. just from the angle they aren't apparent. Doric columns are very simple...

Umm... I changed my mind about waiting till I got back to post it. It's up in the Bryce forum already. Please, let me know what you think. Thanks again, everyone.

I agree with you Neal.. I've just found another painting - this one more suitable in my opinion - in my huge collection, so I'm putting it in. It'll be a while before I post it, since I'll be out of town for the weekend. Thanks for the help everyone.

By the way, GhostofMacbeth, I'm glad you were picky. I can't improve without criticism or suggestions. Actually, though, the columns would be very difficult to do, mostly because there are so many of them... something like 136 or so. As for the roof, I might try it out if I find a picture... I'll check out that page you mentioned later today. Neal, I think the columns are what make it save and load so slowly as well. Something along the lines of 5 minutes, which for my computer is a long time. Thanks guys. =)

Actually, I knew some of that, especially the parts about the columns being taller and not standing straight. In the actual one, they're also not spaced evenly and taper funny (called entasis). I didn't know about the roof, as the only image I've got is of the real parthenon in Athens, with only part of the roof still standing. But I'm only basing it loosely on the parthenon, so I'm not trying to recreate it exactly. Thanks for the help, though. Some of that stuff would be really tough to accomplish, or I'd try it.

I considered it, but like you said, it'd be a bitch. Plus, I don't have any good pictures of the relief sculpture on the parthenon. If I did, I might be able to scan them, turn them B&W, then import them into a terrain and use that for relief, but even that probably wouldn't look right. So, I probably won't do reliefs, though I wish I could.

Oh yeah, I'll put her in a scene as soon as I manage to finish it. Somehow, I have a feeling it's gonna take a while though. I'm also working on another of my characters. Her face came out perfect without a problem, but I'm having a hell of a time with her hair.. Can anyone point me to a long non-ponytail/braid hair that leaves the left ear visible? Thanks
