That's cute! Reminds me of when I'm trying to catch my cat.

I don't know why something can't be done about sites like Warez--legally. What good are copyrights anyway if companies have to resort to this type of practice?

Thread: CL.....P5 Upgrade Packaging | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Does anyone remember the DEC-10 (no hard drive), the Xerox 850/860. The 850 had a one liner (and cassette tapes) while the 860 had a full screen (and big floppies). The Exxon word processor (wonderful machine). The MagCard machine. I think it took 8" floppies. I used to do all my personal stuff on them at work, then when PCs came out I had to retype everything over again because the disks were too big. Fax machines with that roller that the paper adhered to and a needle went back and forth. Took an hour to send one page.

I heard it's only going to be available for the Commodore 64 in basic language. The manual will be printed on a dot matrix printer where all the characters don't print correctly. And you can forget high resolution and color. How is that for scary? Now we can forget about all the registration problems.

Thread: Positive suggestions rather than negative complaints | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've had problems with WindowsME and XP (especially XP) because it hates old hardware and reformatting my hard drive several times a year is not uncommon. I've installed XP at least 6 times in the last six months and have had to "initialize" it through Microsoft's site each time. I'm hoping the problem has gone away and the bugs have been worked out of this computer because I don't think that CL will allow me to keep re-installing Poser5 that many times without getting suspicious. Over on the other board, CL has stated that it can be installed on more than one computer as long as they both aren't used at the same time. And it can be installed several times, but the software will generate a different code for each installation. There seems to be some tolerance for re-installations to a point. I'd much prefer this method over the dongle with the CD in the drive. I much prefer to have my software stored safely. I had a laptop stolen last year with CD's in the case. If this were to happen again, I'd have to wait to receive another one just to run the program. Dongles are a bad idea and just shows how paranoid software company management is. Look what happened to LipSync.

Thread: Anyone have problems with DAZ's new store??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had problems last weekend. I kept entering my credit card information and it kept getting rejected. When it finally accepted it last Saturday, I wasn't given the link to download so I had to go to Order History to get them. I didn't realize it was a new store. It looked the same to me. I checked it just a little while ago and the site was undergoing maintenance. I think they're finally uploading the freebie of the week.

You can bust your butt learning from books and online, but the bottom line is if you don't have credentials (that piece of paper called a diploma), you aren't going to get very far unless you have connections in the industry. That's reality and I know from experience.

Thread: Vue 4's objects in commercial renders | Forum: Vue
Who would want to use them? I've found most of the objects that come with Vue are worthless. The scene files on the Extra CD are much more useful, but you'd probably have problems reusing them since they are created by third parties. There are better objects to be found elsewhere.

Thread: What is the best thing about poser 4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been using Poser since version 2.0 and 4.0 was a big improvement over 2 and 3 with the morphing capabilities and ability to use DAZ's Michael and Victoria characters. I never tried the high poly count figures in 3.0 so I don't know if they work properly. Also the transmap capabilities. I agree with whoever posted the message about why there's no low res Michael version. There is too much emphasis on Victoria especially with clothes. I have both 1 & 2 of Mike/Vicky and Stephanie, but I'd prefer to have a low res version of Michael when having to put a lot of people in one scene. The P4 version of Michael isn't bad, but still eats up a lot of disk space and memory and doesn't have a Michael body. I'd skip Poser 4 and go with 5 unless you're looking for some discounts in upgrading. In the long run, you'll be satisfied you went with 5 because it is offering so much more.

Thread: Daz's Morphos | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I can't get mine to work. I emailed DAZ, but the only thing they told me was I had to change the properties of one file so that it was not read only. This was for the PC only. I'm running Poser Pro Pack and when I try to make changes to the figure, it doesn't automatically update as it claims to do. When I click on the button to update the image, Poser locks up and I have to exit the program. I've tried this on two different machines: one with 256MB and one with 512MB RAM with similar results. Perhaps I've gotten a bad download file. Has anyone else had problems with Morphos on the PC?

Thread: I survived my trip to Hades for Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You'll probably be glad you got the extra memory. My crummy desktop PC only has 256mb of RAM and it struggles running Poser 4 which is why I'm going to put Poser 5 on my laptop that has 512mb. If I could add more memory to my laptop I would, but that's the max. Have memory prices dropped yet? When I ordered a 256mb chip, it was $100 which probably isn't bad, but cheaper is better.
