The problem with one program to do mulitple task include: 1. It would be a lot more expensive. 2. It would be a lot bigger 3. It would be even more prone to errors and crashes. Not everyone wants the same thing. It's better to have a bunch of little programs that do only certain things so that the people that are interested can use them and the people that aren't don't have to tie up their machine with something they don't want.

PlanIt 3d has an ocean of fish and a forest of plants, if that helps. http://www.planit3d.com/
Thread: V2 and V3 MATs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Nope, can't use V3 mats on V2 and can't use V2 mats on V3. Entirely different mapping scheme. Take a look at a V3 and a V2 map in a imaging program. You'll see how different they are. I think DAZ has a program that will convert one to the other though. However V3, M3, David, Stephanie Petite, Luke, Laura and the new kids mats are all interchangaable. We were dicussing that a while back.

Thanks for the tip, stewer, I had an animal ear prop I made and I kept getting an odd black area on the inner part of the ear. I kind of suspected it was due to a normals problem, so I checked normals forward on the ears and the black area went away.

Don't know how much money you want to spend, but I bought Vue Infinite and it imports Poser PZ3 and PZZ scenes in directly and flawlessly, no need to save it as an object file. All the materials are all there and even the hair transmaps are correct. As an added bonus, I can run Poser and Vue at the same time, and if I want to make a change in a pose, I change the pose in Poser and save it - and here comes the great part - Vue detects that I have resaved the scene in Poser and asks me if I want to re-import the scene, and if I do, it brings the PZ3 back in with the changes.

Depends on what you mean by custom figures. Creating new object files, morphing existing object files, just applying texture to existing characters? As for textures, get the templates for what you want to create a texture for, take it to Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, make it the base layer, then paint your texture on another layer. When you are done hid the base layer and save it. And you now have a texture you can apply in the material room. Go to the top of this page and above and to the right of Forums you will see Tutorials. Click on that and start reading those.
Thread: Missing deltas during render? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Am I correct in assuming you already have the DAZ head and body morph packages for Victoria 3.0 already installed in you main runtime directory? If not, that is your problem. You should have a folder in your main runtime entitled !DAZ. In that folder should be a subfolder entitled Victoria 3. Within that should be two folders, ChanVis and Deltas. If not you need to intall your head morph package and your body morph package into your main runtime. If you don't have these packages you need to buy them form DAZ.

From the The FireFly/Material room FAQ 1. FireFly is so slow, how can I make it faster? In order to get faster FireFly renders, you can do the following: * decrease the number of Pixel samples * increase the value for Bucket Size * increase the Minimum shading rate * check Remove backfacing polygons * uncheck Use texture filtering * uncheck Raytracing on

Thread: hair for older or elderly men? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It worked great for a character I was doing. Before I had tried dropping hair down in the Y direction to simulate a bald spot. Didn't work that great. I later did a passable job in the hair room, looked okay if you didn't zoom in too close. But Koz's hair looks great both far and close-up.
Thread: Larger .PNG pictures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You don't need something as expensive as Photoshop to convert a picture's size and format, programs like ACDSee will let you resize and crop picutures and will load and save in the .png format or you can also change jpegs to .png with it. And the nice thing about ACDSee is it will load up a lot faster and to load an image you just double click on the file in your file folder. I use it all the time to do simple edits such a resizing, cropping, changing hue, brightness, contrast, making thumbnails and converting from one format to another.

Yes, but it keeps popping up all the time here in the forum. So obviously a lot of people don't know about it. I was just talking to someone about it in another thread. This should probably go in the FAQ or something.
