Hi, can an expert clarify this topic. If I render an image in poser 900 x 600 @ 72 dpi I get an image which will fill most of a screen at resolution 1024 x 768. If I print it as black and white on a laser printer I get an image 3" x 2" if I don't specify the size. What is the effect of rendering 900 x 600 @ 300 dpi ? is the image file actually higher resolution than the same image @ 72dpi.

Hi, I have a professional grade editing suite which I rarely use because all the bells and whistles are confusing. If you just need basic editing features there are some very good free or shareware programs. Just a hint but I store all the originals , uncut and not retouched in a project source folder, and use copies for the actual work. That way I can always go back to the original if I make a mistake. Copies of the files on the computer are of course digital and there is no loss of quality. regards

For thumbnails I render a larger image and then use Paint Shop Pro to crop the image to the right size. In some cases I will crop the image larger than required and resample it to get exactly the right size.

The error message indictates the C++ runtime. Have you loaded any new applications very recently. It is possible that something loaded in a newer version of one (or more) of the C++ runtime modules. regards.

Hi, 1. Freestuff at all the major sites. Look at the links page for other websites. Get a paint package and look at tutorials on transparency mapping. This lets you modify existing clothes. 2. Lighting is a big issue. Experiment with the lighting setup , use less lights, try spotlights, change light color , add a few lights and see the result. There are also lighting tutorials, photographic lighting applies to poser.
Thread: Selective Censorship in Poser Gallery... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Terms of service quote "Additionally, any post, image or writings can be removed at the discretion of staff if it is deemed unsuitable for this community. Conversely there may be some images which, whilst in apparent violation of the rules, will be permitted to stay in the interests of free speech and religious tolerance." Here from the TOS is the catchall phrase that ,in my opinion, makes any legal challange moot. Whether the owner chooses to charge for site access or makes it free the fact that you are required to register emphasises the fact it is NOT a public forum. And NO, I have not seen the picture in question. Post it on the other site and I will give you my opinion, but you probably would not like it. I have seen some wonderful artwork done with Poser and I have seen some stuff that makes me wonder why the person has even bothered. I agree with the comment on taking this as a challange and rework it. This site is remarkably lenient in the images it does allow. If it adopted the standards of some American communities I have delt with there would be No nipples shown, no unclothed buttocks, no demeaning postures etc. The continuation of this , again in my opinion, does you no service and will probably work against you. The trend of this forum thread seems to support the position of Renderosity. best wishes in your future endevours and may the grace of God be upon your soul. [not neccessarily my beliefs but a nice sentiment anyway]
Thread: Selective Censorship in Poser Gallery... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi, By definition all censorship is selective. Someone looks at each image and decides if IN THEIR OPINION it violates the TOS for this site. Renderosity is a private web site which requires membership for certain activities it provides. As such the owners are free to do whatever they feel appropriate at the time. If you don't like it start your own site. Personally from description of your image posted on the forums I would have assumed the picture represented an act of sodomy. I would prefer a website that I could refer teenagers in the 14-17 year age group to who are interested in art and computer graphics. There are not very many sites that I would consider suitable. If you want to post your picture there is another website for erotic art that lets you post almost anything (except beastiality) - go over there. Pelease accept the fact that your image was deemed unsuited TO THIS SITE and move on. I have a nice picture of a seven foot rabbit hugging a girl in bikini. I can not post it because SOMEONE is going to say - beastiality.

Think multiple runtimes. There are other threads on this topic. Moving things rarely used into other runtimes is supposed to speed up Poser loading.

If you are looking for a video editor that can take a series of stills and convert to video look on the web for VideoMach.
Thread: Poser 2 figure with Poser 5 figure proportions? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you have both P5 figures and P2 figures available just overlap the positioning so you can see both figures and start scaling the P2 figure so that shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist ,thigh, knee and ankle joints match up. Then save the new scaled P2 figure. It may look grotesque but should work ok. However since BVH stores the joint positioning by angle you need to hope that the joints bend in the same direction. You can test this by applying bends to each joint in order and check they match.
Thread: Adding frames to an an animation? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Why don't you just do a move in the keyframe editor. Select the framees you want moved and drag them to the new position. There was also a tip that you can drag detail from the keyframe editor to a spreadsheet, adjust it and paste it back. Python does have a setframe instruction but that just makes that frame the current frame. (I don't have the manual here but its a scene function - like scene.SetFrame(x))

yes, absolutely. I generally import bvh files to a figure. Fix up the scale problems and any odd positioning, then export a new bvh file from poser.

Thread: BVH Animations Assistance | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have not tried it but I would assume that if you are at frame 1 and import (for example) 20 frames of BVH then move to frame 21 and import another 20 frames bvh that they would not overlap. It should be easy enough to prove. regards.
