I'm all for the 'ignore thread' option! Too many times I've checked on the forum, only to see the same rants taking up too much bandwidth. Count my vote in.
Thread: Newbee question on animation | Forum: Animation
I would suggest looking through the Windows Explorer option. Some programs, like Poser, Windows Media Player, and others will only show you the files in the "OPEN" window that THEY think you want. If you look in Windows Explorer, you'll find ALL files. Do a search for .avi files since that is the format of most videos on Windows machines. Good Luck!

Try previewing the post with the "Preveiw Post" button. That's what it's there for so you can see if it's OK.

If you're allowed to edit posts, then the thread could change substantially. If you've said it, you've said it. Edit BEFORE you hit the "Post Reply" button. Just my 2 Cents.

The images looks great! Congrats on the save! Hopefully, when the animation gallery is approved and figured out, you can post the full thing there.

Thread: where can i find the coolest 3D animation? | Forum: Animation
There is a movement currently trying to put an Animation gallery in place. But, since R'osity has been having problems with keeping the site from crashing, they've put it on the back burner. :< Hopefully something will happen soon...
Thread: little animation | Forum: Carrara
Question: Half way through, the music gives a big "BZZZRP" and the room wiggles. Was that a Carrara thing? Or, was that in whatever program you used to edit the animation together? (After Effects, FCP, Premire, etc.?) How did you find the bones feature? Was it tough to coordinate? I too like the integration of the music with the motion! Great job!!

I haven't used either Rhino or 3DMax to say if they are more difficult or not. With Carrara you can import an Adobe Illustrator file (*.ai) into a plane of the vertex modeler to extrude and manipulate. I have done this a few times with client logos, and have found it to be relativly painless. An .ai file can be generated from within PhotoShop as well, by outlining what you want with the pen tool, and then saving the path as an .ai file. This is usually pretty quick and clean. I haven't had much success with importing .dxf files into Carrara. For that matter, if anyone out there has some helpful hints for this I would appreciate it. I use Vectorworks for 2D/3D CAD work, but haven't found the magic bullet for converting into C.

How about support for animated GIFs? They sometimes have enough quality to get an idea across.

I wholeheartily support the idea. Most of my stuff is created as animations, with stills being a side effect. Sign me up!

Your second version is awesome! I agree with your change of angle, and the pills spilling out add a nice random touch of reality. VERY cool! I agree with WeaBeast, the pills need some texture. Either an imprint, or some noise in the bump channel. Something to make them not look too plastic. How about a glass of water next to it? Have fun, and push for C2. The GI renderer would also make this "real", not rendered.

Does the Walker, um.... walk? Also would love to see the fixed version of the gif. Cool image!
