I would agree with velarde also. Some dirt and scars mixed in randomly. Maybe some laser holes? It looks like the outer wings do fold from the 15 minute challenge. Maybe some grease streaks around that point on the wings? The model looks great! Is it a 2-seater? Fore and aft? So, for inside the cockpit, the pilot in front, and a weapons officer/navigator behind with an array of dials/monitors/radar/etc. around him/her/it. I can't wait to see it swooping through the sky, heading towards the stars...
Thread: Copy/Paste Terrain Models into other Scenes | Forum: Carrara
If you save a terrain map from within the terrain editor, then in a new file insert a new terrain object. Then, from within the terrain editor, import the map into the new terrain, it seems to work fine for me. I've found a few problems with using the browser. Sometimes it crashes when I drag a texture into it, sometimes the same for objects. I've never had a problem dragging something out of it, just into it. Hope this helps.

Thread: what do you think about Digital Carvers plugins | Forum: Carrara
I also find the plug-ins essential. And I guess so does Eovia, since they opted to include Anything Glows into the software! Highs praise Eric! I have also been impressed with his tutorials, and the quick support he gives. (Especially through this forum!) The only problem I find is when some of the settings are set to high (like anything grows for lawns,) it starts to bring my computer to its knees with the polygon count. Sssslllloooowwww interface response. But the final renders are worth it! I don't "enable" until it's render time, but still, it gets hard when doing test renders to turn things on and off.
Thread: Carrara Efficiency | Forum: Carrara
Some of the set-ups I have animated end up taking hours just to set-up the "on-off" keyframes! (Room fly-throughs of meeting set-ups with 300 chairs, tables, and some times people/manequins. LOTS of polygons!) Occasionally I've seen that I've missed some objects whose shadows noticably dissapear when they move off-camera AFTER the client has signed-off on the project. (Do I fix it? Or, cash the check... hmmmm ;> ) I know they say it speeds up the render in the manual, but I'm never really sure if it helped or not in the end.
Thread: C2 does not work on my Mac !!! | Forum: Carrara
I know that C2 is written for MP, but I believe only within one machine. I have a dual 1G G4 (LOVE IT!) and I dual boot for OSX and OS 9.2.1, and both work great with C2. (9.2.1 worked fine for C1 as well) C2 works so much faster now, but of course now they have GI, which is a MAJOR render hog! (GI used with animations is going to have to wait for a while I think!) Willf- does your friends cluster technique work for any program? I should would love to render-farm from within C2! (I wish they implimented THAT in the new upgrade!)

My piece was @ 29.97 for 28 seconds. How long is yours? ;> Seriously, it was a drag having to do it, but I couldn't find a way around it. I just checked on the link and it turns out that when I copied and pasted it, some little piece of software decided I didn't want the ".MPG" instead it put in ".mpg". Now wasn't THAT helpful?! Anyway, I changed the extention on the web-site, so try it again if you'd like.

Thread: Problem with Carrara | Forum: Carrara
I would suggest going to the "Backroom" (see link above) There you will find some suggestions from others having some problems with the Vertex Modeling room among others. Usually there is a conflict with outdated drivers for the graphics card. Are you using C2 with OpenGL active? On a Mac or PC? Check with your card manufacturor's web site. Good luck!
Thread: Creases in model | Forum: Carrara
No matter how ou get this model to work for you, I would highly suggest NOT doing a boolean operqation on it. I have never found them to work correctly, and I've read this from others here in the forum as well. Good luck.
Thread: Quick thoughts on Carrara 2 | Forum: Carrara
With the Production Frame, if you are trying to re-set the aspect ratio, you can go to the Render room, set your output dimensions, then when you go back to the Assembly room, you'll find that it has changed there. This way you have more control over the exact dimensions. If you want to change what it's looking at, click in the window with the "D" key and drag the mouse for a new camera angle. If an object is selected, its anchor point will be the center of your camera rotation., If not, then the cameras anchor point will be. Hope this helps! I've been enjoying Carrara's interface and find it fast and simple on both platforms.
Thread: Squash & Stretch for modelling and animation | Forum: Carrara
If you chose the vertices with the select/move tool, or the marque tool, then using the select/move tool you can move them to wherever you want. For that matter, you can use the scale tool in the model room and scale the model, but I think you have to scale the whole thing, not just portions of it. Hope this helps!
Thread: Eovia C1 VS C2 | Forum: Carrara
I agree. Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade! I'm running on a dual-1Ghz, and a project I just finished, (that needed DP support, character animation, indirect lighting, AND caustics!) I re-ran one section just to see how faster it was: C1.1 on 9.4 - 27 sec animation with 8 lights, EVERY object reflective, spinning, motion blur, multi-level transparency, and DOF - 54 hours 47 minutes! C2 on OSX - same settings - 26 hours 15 minutes! Worth every damn penny! Too bad it didn't arrive BEFORE I had to finish that project. I'm gonna re-do it (the "Director's Cut") and I'll report on how the bones do.
