Whoa, I went a bit off the rails on my last post. I just had exactly the same problem with a download link from Tim Laubach as from Hokusai's Yahoo/Geocities download link. Apologies for the confusion. The root cause of the problems still appear to stem from a missing home page on Geocities linking to the download files. Geoff (now where did my last post go?)

When I attempt to access the URL for the directory containing Hokusai's downloads, http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/1095/, Yahoo/Geocities describes the page owner as having signed up, but not moved in yet. This probably means that there is no index.htm file within that directory (a consequence of the owner not having clicked on the house icon - moving in, I presume). I get the same result when proceeding down through the Geocities neighbourhoods. The other subscribers within the SoHo/Cafe all appear to have valid home pages on Geocities, Hokusai's appears not to. I have seen a few Web Hosting sites which explicitly prevent (or attempt to prevent) access to files which are not referred to by a link within the subscriber's HTML files. They appear to be deliberately discouraging use of their servers as binary repositories, forcing surfers to wade through their interminable sponsor promotions and advertising. I apologise if I'm getting off topic here, and I don't intend this minor rant to be taken as "hate mail" under any circumstances. I'm just one of the unlucky 2% of Poser fans who groan whenever we see a link to Geocities or Xoom, ... Geoff (Mac, Poser 4, Nethead)
