I started converting one (Daz Hi-Res vic) last night and dont see how you can think it will be a snap. I started by laying the Vic texture over the template to see how far off the body alignment is by default, it's way off. I cut the front body texture out and with the nipples lined up on the template as close as they can be, the arms, legs, thighs, and various other parts of the body require quite a bit of smudging or cloning to cover those parts of the template. Am I missing something you saw? Or do you plan on using a stretch in the action?
Thread: Zip File Question...changing Directories | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No, you cant change it unfortunately.. There are two easy methods that work fine though. 1. Extract the files (with 'use folder names' selected) to any directory. Best way is just make a new one specificaly for the job. Go to that folder, go in the product name folder, then just copy the /runtime/ folder to your poser directory. It will put everything where it belongs. BTW, it will ask you "There is already a runtime directory.. blah blah.. do you wish to continue". Click yes to all (otherwise it will ask for each dir and gets annoying). 2. This way is a little more work, but still easy. In Winzip select the like files (ones that go in the same directories), click extract, uncheck use directory names, and just extract them to the folders they were intended to go in.

Wow, looks very nice! The only thing that looks a little 'off' to me is in the top pic. She looks like she just recently stopped a nose bleed.

leather-guy, I wasn't slamming you or ZoneAlarm with that remark. I was just curious if you allowed it to check for updates is all. Most other applications, like Real Player, also have an option to automatically check for updates. I generally keep all my update checkers disabled and run a check manual since some seem to get confused if you arent connected to the net and take forever to load or dont load. However, there really is nothing to worry about by letting them do it. If anyone believes a company like MS or Real is going to risk all the money and credibility they will lose if they gathered info from you through a background app, you are crazy. Anyone remember about 4 years ago when Blizzard updated Battle.net, their online play area, and had it secretly checking the registry for Diablo player email addresses (it was an anti-piracy measure)? Well, it took all of about a day before they were caught and shutdown. That was back when security wasnt nearly as big a concern as it is today. With todays security watchers everywhere, any backdoor is lucky to have 5 minutes of life before exposure. Especially one from a large corp.

How does this differ from a web browsers cache? Oh no! IE stores every site you go to, look out! It can be used by the same people for the same reasons. Oh, thats deletable isnt it? So whats stopping MS from making IE call home every 5 minutes with the info? There goes that delete fnction down the drain. MS has had a 7 year opportunity to do what all these newfangled "spyware" applications are trying so hard to do, yet they never have. Cherokee69, your story is 100% false. Soulhuntre, great post. leather-guy, do you also block ZoneAlarm itself from accessing the net every time it starts? Yes, like the other apps you mentioned, ZA also likes to call home and check for software updates when it starts.

Looks better in the original size window. Full screen makes it look too blurry. It will look great on TV im sure. I thought some of the animation looked a little stiff, but overall it was pretty cool. pendarian, cut scenes are still animation too ya know? :)

That's cool Scott. Sorry for the harsh reply. I also apologize to you Sean. Didnt mean to turn this into anything personal.

Sorry Scott. I didnt realize common non-profane English vocabulary would be considered inappropriate by you. Glad I replaced the words I used at first. :)

I wanted to clarify one thing. Im not saying we need to simply cater to a freeloaders every request. Obviously people make stuff and give it away because they enjoy it. If it becomes a burden, the spirit of the whole idea is lost. Virtual, "..adamantly refusing to do the work themselves when it's something relatively easy or when it's something that they could actually put to use later on." Come off it. What a pompous and asinine statement. You are assuming WAAAAAY too much. Simply opening and using or even learning to use a modelling application is not "easy" to most people. I have home-built my own computers for 9 years. It's easy, to me. Some of my friends, on the other hand, dont know a harddrive from a damn CPU. Should I expect it to be easy to everyone and just make all my friends and relatives do it themselves? When someone brings me a box of components you wont catch me shoving it back in their face telling them to do it themselves. Just remember that most people use Poser for FUN, and while it may be fun for some to create the entire image from the models up, that isnt fun for others. Obviously if someone is begging for free stuff to be used in a commercial realm (like Poppi's example) that is another story.

At the bottom of the Hosting Plans page: Additional 1GB of Bandwidth/Month - $1.50 per GB The way their agreement reads, they do not warn you if you are getting close or go over either. Some hosts will help you out and let you know, so I would email them and clarify that. Alla, your hair prop is only 423k. 13k downloads is less than 6GB, but you will obviously want to be carefull with larger files. The one thing that catches my eye is this line in the AUP: You may not use your dedicated server or virtual site to publish material, which Cyberwings determines, at its sole discretion, to be unlawful, indecent or objectionable. For purposes of this policy, "material" refers to all forms of communications including narrative descriptions, graphics (including photographs, illustrations, images, drawings, logos), executable programs, video recordings, and audio recordings. Would nude poser textures, renderings, etc be considered indecent?

Virtual, no disrespect but the topic of the thread is what each individual sees as beauty-not what YOU associate with "Barbie". If JennyAddict sees that as a beautiful woman, thats his/her perogative. I know a few men who are attracted to fat women. Others associate those women with pigs. Does that make those men wrong to be attracted to them? Of course not. Is beauty a look? A feeling? An energy? An attitude? It is all/any/more of the above to each individual. Nobody is right (or "on the right track"), nobody is wrong.

H&R Block has a "Standard Guarantee", in which they assume responsibility of any errors they make. That would explain why they are offering "free" double checking of last years return. :) As far as DIY goes, I agree. It's easy and free. There has only been one year I should have paid someone to do it. That year I said "I am not going to pay someone to tell me I have to pay!".. Well, I came up just a bit short and got a bill from the IRS about 8 months later. DOH!
