At this point a thank you to all who have written here. This is a lot of useful and helpful information. That's why it would be very useful to pin this thread.
With best regards

Can you simply install the update over the old P13 version on the PC? Or do you have to uninstall P13 before?
Greetings and have a nice Sunday
Thread: What Poser Version are you using and Why ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have been using P12 since it was released. I have not cried a tear for the old poser versions. Admittedly, the fact that the old Python scripts no longer work was a bitter pill, but in the meantime I have built the scripts I need for my purposes myself. But the Superfly renderer is just faster than Firefly, and the materials are easier to create. Let's see where Poser 13 takes us.

Firefly and Superfly are quite different technologies. To unite the two in one program I think is quite daring. To make lights, cameras, texture handling and other things equally well manageable for both engines, ends up in a big lazy compromise that is ultimately unsatisfactory for both engines. That's why I think Firefly should ultimately be removed, and development should focus only on Superfly.

Everyone is staring, like rabbits at a snake, at Unimesh. It is of no use to anyone to open just one more construction site. But there are many important things that need to be done first.
1. the full Cycles Node support
2. remove the bugs from the existing Cycles Nodes
3. a more manageable way to access the nodes. The four level pulldown menu is just annoying.
4. a faster preview window
5. a faster and updated clothroom
6. an overhaul of the outdated UI
7. a few working examples for the integration of Python programs in the addon directory. Everything is very cryptic.
8. removal of the unspeakable Firefly engine
I will update in any case. Just because of the faster render times. I am rather the impatient type

@hborre:Presently, we don't have any way of adjusting emission control on the PrincipleBsdf node but I came across a Blender trick that works very well in P12. By connecting a Color mix node to the emission input on the PrincipleBsdf node, setting it to multiply, and connecting a Value node to its Color2 input you create an effective way of controlling emission intensity. Plug a color or a map to the Color1 input.
You can also use these nodes in Bastep's Background Controller to control HDRI illumination intensity rather than adjusting the Gamma value. I have found that using Gamma to intensify the HDR results in fireflies in the render; this arrangement eliminates that.
Thread: Procedural wood texture, a mistake of mine or Poser? | Forum: Poser 12
Your alternative works. Well, I still have to screw something on it. But I am not satisfied. I think the error is in the mapping node. Scaling, rotating and moving do not bring any results. It seems that the node has been shut down. I will open a ticket in any case. Let's see if something comes out.
Thanks to all for the help, and have a nice weekend.

Hello,
I would like to stretch the texture in one direction. For this I have set the scale values in the mapping node to 1.0, 10.0, and 1.0. With these settings the texture should be stretched in one direction but it is not. Settings of the units of measurement, changes of the scaling values have no effect the render always remains the same.
The upper plane should look similar to the lower one, i.e. drawn in width.
PS: I have tried to scale in all 3 directions in the mapping node. Unfortunately without success.

For the friends of the 360 degree angle: With the Cycles Math Node you can use normal degree angles instead of radians. This is the node set up I used. I used the Tile 012 texture from AmbeintCG.com for the floor.
It seems to me that 360° of rotation of the Z value equals 2π (6.283185), thus 180° of equals π (3.14159) and so 90° of rotation equals ½π (1.570796). If so, then all other measures of rotation would therefore be in accordance. Any one feel free to let me know if I have this wrong.

An extremely good and important contribution to the understanding of Cycles materials and in particular the Principled BSDF node.
Thank you for this contribution.

Without showing Ghostship's material, you can use such setting for simple transparency.ghostship2 I love your work and am constantly using your superfly shaders-love the new set-one question on your cloth shaders how do i set transparency for a see thru naughty look?
Be sure to set gamma=1.0 and filter=none with the transparency maps.
More beautiful effects can be used with two principledbsdf nodes, as Caisson (if I remember correctly) explained in another thread to mimic the translucency of tree leaves for example

Honestly: I don't remember, it's dated February 18, 2016.The picture looks good!
Greetings
PS: Where do you get the Superfly logo?
Here is the original that was be downloaded, and I slightly modified it to add a "12". It should be a png with transparent background
