6 hour sessions are about normal, and a lot longer are common.
I want to do something for the challenge but I am swamped with this thing.
Thread: What's your reason for posting artwork on Renderosity | Forum: Bryce
I've had computers since the late seventies. Funny little boxes you put together yourself. I would make chunky images at the awesome resolution of 80x40. A Commodor PET lead to a C64 and the first real art program I ever owned. It was part of a larger program called SIMON. 320x256 Talk about living.
A Amiga 500 in 1990 and Delux Paint were the weapons of choice. They kept me going until I laid my hands on a program called IMAGINE. It had taken more than a decade, but I finally had a powerful 3d program.
Since then I have tried almost anything you can name, and everything that has ever featured in the general press. Of the big names I use Max. Hate the rest.
In 1997 I bought a P200 and found a program called PAINT SHOP PRO. I stared creating composite images and modifying photos. In 2000 I was playing around with a program that looked like it may be okay for doing some realistic backgrounds. I rendered one out and placed myself holding my son into it. I showed it to some people along with holiday snaps and they asked where had it been taken. The program of course was BRYCE. I became an instant fan, and to this day enjoy it more than all those big name big bucks programs.
Renderosity came to my attention in 2005 when it was featured in 3D WORLD magazine. I came, I saw, I liked. The huge amount of crap Poser content annoyed me, and still does, but the peple in the Bryce and Wings3d forums give me so much enjoyment talking to and stirring up that I rarely venture out into the galleries. I post images so rarely now, that people comment on my actually posting as much as the image.

@rj001: Try getting into a 1960's police box owned by a complete nutter( and with no coat hooks) and see if your luck changes. The first hint will be it's bigger on the inside.

Everybody knows my view on Daz/Poser so I don't believe I am saying this, but you could probably do it using daz studio and bryce 6. Create your characters in daz and animate them in bryce. Also if you get DEM files of the battlefield Bryce will accuratly recreate it.

Quote - Where I'm at, it is more likely to be a rattlesnake in the wood pile...
I have a book called "Australia's Dangerous Creatures" published by Readers Digest. In its introduction to Australian snakes it says in part "At least 10 are more lethal than an Indian Cobra and America's feared Rattlesnake would barely rank in our top twenty.
Where I live in Tasmania, we are the only place in the world that has snakes, that doesn't have a non poisonous one. The Tiger snake and Copperhead's are both as deadly as a cobra. Really makes me want to put on a pair of sandals and go kicking around in long grass.

My grade 10 school trip was to the arts festival in Adelaide. One day we ran across a couple of women asking people to try their chocolate covered munchies. A good hand full later somebody asked what they were.
Chocolate covered SILK WORMS
Now I have to say the munchies were great, but the show after the question was answered was outstanding.
One teacher fainted, and three people burped their cookies. Add the numerous people looking greener than Kermit the frog and it made for an interesting moment.
As for myself, I took the paper cup full offered by one of the women and with a couple of mates of the cast iron stomach variety, munched happily while chaos reigned.

I have 3ds Max on my computer, but do most of my modelling in Wings 3D. Why? Because I like using it. Bryce is the same. It is one of those apps that I enjoy using. It may have short comings, and it may use archane ways of achieving certain results, but it is fun.
For me, it is about enjoying the process.

It can only be a small heretical app because of all the Poser crap they have started putting on the discs.

Hey Bryster. You will be able to comfy chair somebody to the glow of super heated rock flying over your hab. Might even be able to aquire a few pieces and give them a tatoo. Oh. by the way, I won't be able to make it. I'm ummm, washing my hair. Yeah thats it, washing my hair.

Note I said "ALMOST NOBODY"
I am always glad when somebody puts the old grey matter into gear before playing with Poser. It is a rare phenominon.
Originality is the biggerst loser where Poser is concerned, with almost every picture falling with half a dozen themes. When you have the potential to create the ENTIRE range of human endeavor, real or not, it shows a distinct lack of original thinking. And as for talent, check out how many artists actually made ((ONE)) prop, hair, clothing item, texture, or background plate in their image. Any body can buy and pose.

It may not be the end of the world, but you can definately see it from there.

Before using Daz Studio or Poser you have to sign an agreement that you will not attempt to display any talent, or originality. A check of the galleries will show almost nobody breaks this agreement.

My GPS says "Stop listening to your wife, she is holding the map upside down, ant its the one for Utah."
Good advice. We live in Australia.
