Thank you back! And I know ALL about being woken up by dogs - we have four, and 6.30 am is when they want to get up, every day! They just don't understand about weekends and lie-ins...

That 'Grief' statue is wonderful! I found it so inspiring I made an attempt at recreating the spirit of it in Poser - the result is far from perfect, but if you're interested, you can find it at the link above.Thread: ~~~ September Poser Forum Challenge Winners ~~~~ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Thread: Broken glass not broken? | Forum: Bryce
Looks like your rock didn't intersect the glass in a big enough way. 'Cos you've got that red sliver there, so you must have managed to 'cut' it out of the glass somehow! Might be my imagination, but I think I can see where the slver is missing from the glass - on the backside of it, on the right hand side. Try rotating the glass a bit, and see if it becomes clearer. If that isn't the problem, I'm stumped!

3 points - Creations 2 points - Tasha 1 point - Insom Nia It was very difficult to choose just three, but those are the ones that seemed to conjure up the emotion of the song for me. Good luck to all!
Thread: What do I do when it has died? Any help appreciated. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm just coming ou of a major block myself - so I know just how frustrating it can be! What I do when inspiration won't come is to concentrate on learning more about the software - fnding tutorials on aspects of it that confuse me (like lighting!) and working through them. That way, I'm investing the creative downtime in improving my techniques, so that when I'm back into creating, it's easier to get the effect I'm after. Alternatively, as someone else suggested above, try working with a different bit of software for a while - I alternate between bouts of Bryce and Poser. If all else fails, just put on some loud music, and illustrate the emotions it invokes! And whatever you do, remember that this is supposed to be enjoyable!
Thread: The filesize of uploaded file must be less than 200 KB.....this sucks | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Being one of those on dial-up, it's the time it takes to download a pic (ie, look at it) - if it's over 200k - that bothers me. That's why I like the 200k limit. If you want people to look at a bigger version of your work, why not include a link in your 'under picture comment' to your own webspace, where you can put pics that are as big as you want them to be? That way, you're also responsible for your own bandwidth use...

mit - I think I worked for the same cable company - every day was just one load of abuse after another! Cheered me up no end, 'cos I just thought that no matter how bad my life might be, I was never going to get that irate about my telly (or lack of it!). Impeccable politeness in the face of misdirected abuse often works wonders!
Thread: Gallery Picks of the Week | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you for this - is it going to be a weekly feature? I do hope so, cos I no longer have the time (or the money - paying by the minute here!) to wander through the galleries as much as I used to. Much appreciated!

Just a quickie to say thanks for your generosity, and good wishes for your work on the tutorial!
Thread: R'osity Newsletter - Free Stuff | Forum: Community Center
Personally, I'd rather have lower quality free items, if that's what it takes to be able to offer a new one every week. As Seliah says above, those of us without P5 have been sans a freebie for the past month - so the quality of the one on offer is a bit of a moot point to us! It's very generous of merchants to offer us free stuff, but it would be nice if more of them got the opportunity to be showcased in the newsletter. Much preferred the old 'one a week' format. Doubt my peferences will count for much, though!

Brighton is pretty tempting, too - as I'm originally from there, and still have family in Hove Actually! I could bring Celtic thingies with me... perhaps we could hold it in the Fiddler's Elbow? ;) I think I've turned 40 shades of green several times in there...

It's not just yanks, either - scratch anyone anywhere and you'll find a bit of the blarney inside! There's quite a few Irish Indians around nowadays, too... ah mit, if you come over, I bet you'll be singing 'The Fields of Athenry' with the best of 'em after a few Guinnesses!
