I always have trouble with that too.  It seems more trouble than it's worth.
Even when I can get the picture to show up in the render, often times
it doesn't match the dimensions of the render and I get a white border
on the sides or top and bottom.
Instead take a single sided square (in props/primitives) and then take
it to the material room and put your image on the square.  Then scale
the square up to the size you want your background to be.

(Don't use the double sided square, you will get a weird checker board pattern)

I'd go with Poser Pro or Poser Pro Base if I were you.  Only costs a little bit more
and you get more features.  If you already have Poser 6, Poser Pro Base is $149.
While Poser 7 is $129.  So for $20 more you get  a 64 bit render engine, network
rendering, animation layers, gamma correction and everything in Poser 7.
PP is sort of Poser 7.5.

Yes, all the First Amendment says is "Congress shall make no law...**abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press....".  Doesn't say a private company can't make such a law.

All of your character should work fine, I haven't come across any problems. I can't comment on any of the newest generation DAZ characters (M4 & V4) since I don't use them.

 

I have Poser Pro and V4 and M4 work just fine for me.  Plus Poser Pro seems to be very
stable.  I can't recall the last time it crashed, if ever. 

I also like that I can use the queue manager to  render an animation with another old computer
I have and not tie up my main machine.

What version of Poser and of Vue are you using?

After much experimentation, I have found that the way to avoid wrinkles is to set the
Fold Resistance and Shear Resistance very high, 50 for fold and 500 for shear,
and Stretch Resistance very low, between 5 and 1, and Stretch Damping to 0.
Also in Collide Against, set Collision Offset and Collision Depth to between
.3 and .4.  If you get too much poke through, bump this up some.

Did you use the body xyz dials to move your figure?  Poser doesn't save this as
pose information.  You need to use the hip xyz dials to move your figure, and Poser
does save the hip parameters.

Why don't you use dynamic cloth / hair ?

I don't don't use dynamic cloth.  In fact I prefer dynamic cloth, especially in animations
because to me it moves and flows more realistically. 

OTOH, I have never been able to make dynamic hair that looks realistic,
and pre-packaged sets are way to resource intensive, so I seldom use it.

Another thing you might want to try is to take the choker into the cloth room.
