All my products have promotional credits where they should be, as I sell clothing and tend to use other people's characters and hair in my promos.
This must be something that only happens when a vendor has not added any promo credits - before there used to be only a message that there are no promo cedits.
It is up to each vendor whether they will put in promo credits or not. I think it is good practice if one has actually used anything. Not all vendors use other people's items for their promos in the first place though so they would have nothing to put there. Renderosity probably just decided to use the empty space for promoting some of the vendor's own products - check out a few more products and I am sure you will find promo credits! :)
Hope that helps!

Thread: Why so few new products for Poser? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
@kljpmsd Thank you, some new skills are never a bad investment in any case. I should probably learn it.
@fabiana. As long as it is fun, it is all good. Being forced to leave the software you love behind because of trends is a lot less fun!

This might be an out of topic (and perhaps basic) question, but I have not rigged anything in DAZ. Is it very different than rigging in Poser, and would (conforming) clothing for say V4 or V6 have to be rigged separately in the two programs? And then we have the mysterious 'DSON Poser Companion files' that V6 items seem to need.

I've had this problem once on another tutorial video in the series. I use Firefox, if that helps. (40.0.3)

@DreaminGirl Wow, I am glad you like them! I do add fits for both V6 and Dawn pretty often so that things will work out of the box even without adjustments. Have you tried using any of my items on V3 and did that work well? V3 is a bit before my time, I only got started in 2010. :)
This reminds me I should make some male stuff soon... the market is bit slower there but the guys do need more stuff!

I feel really happy every time I hear people wanting Poser stuff though. And V4 still going so strong among the customers proves that it is worth investing in something and making it great. :)
Although I would prefer to move into creating for a weight mapped figure that has a similar level of market support, for more hybrid clothing. I've only rigged clothing for weight mapped figures (Dawn) and am not too keen on doing it the old way. But here it gets tricky with market support levels for figures (Dawn) / suitability of figures for Poser (V6).
And just the idea of creating something for V6 only that also only works in Poser... I would anticipate angry DS users and no sales!

Poser only stuff here since I concentrate on dynamic clothing. If I start making props, they will probably be DS also. And if it was possible to make dynamic clothing for DS as well, I would of course. My main issue with DAZ really. :P
Curious about what might be coming with Poser 2016...

Thread: can we just put the cap back, please | Forum: Community Center
Wow, that is a lot of images by one person... I fail to see how unlimited uploads could possibly encourage artists to put some time, thought and selectiveness into their work... things that are important to an artist's development. And the site as a whole needs to keep that balance between being open to artists of any level and at the same time encouraging quality.
10 images a day would be more than enough... Do we really want to see more from the same artist in one day? In my view, browsing the galleries should be a pleasant experience that draws people to the site.
I would make an exception for MarkusVogt though. He can post as many images as he wants as far as I am concerned. ;) In fact, I would settle for a script that simply reposts a MarkusVogt image as soon as someone posts more than one image per day... hehehehehe :P

Thread: Dawns Special Edition Looks Cool | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow! I am seeing some nice Dawn faces here. :)
My main issue with Dawn (original version) has been that there has been so very few unique characters created for her. For some reason, her face has been looking very similar whatever people do, especially around the eyes. This was probably due to the lack of face morphs. So I think that has been a barrier for people creating characters.
That is not at all what I see here! Much improvement. I think we might be seeing new Dawn character packs popping up all over the place soon...

Thread: Question for the Vendors | Forum: Community Center
Hi,
We vendors tend to voice most of our concerns in the Vendors only forums for obvious reasons. As you can imagine, sales statistics is sensitive information that one might be advised not to share publicly.
All I can say is that just because we tend to be a little discreet (just common business sense really) does not mean we have not been busy voicing much the same concerns as those of our customers regarding the site redesign. Believe me when I say that unhappy customers = unhappy vendors! We have now been heard in many areas and I personally feel that things are improving greatly even if there are still things left to do.
But yes, vendors have indeed been putting pressure on staff for improvements, and it is my impression that staff have been listening and have been working hard around the clock to turn things around. I can tell you that they do care, it is their site and business after all. And no, vendors have not been punished for voicing concerns. ;)
Regarding pricing, we follow guidelines that are public information and most vendors will indeed set their prices at the minimum allowed level. It is my understanding that the prices are kept where they are to avoid a 'race to the bottom' type situation and general degradation of the market, which would in the end destroy the market as a whole. The idea is to instead encourage us to aim to produce high quality content. Competitor pricing and quality levels play a part here also, I am sure.
Hope that helps even though I can't offer you more details!
But yes, we do read... and we do care! :)

I've had this problem when uploading. There is a delay of a few minutes until the thumbnail appears in my gallery main page. They do turn up after a few minutes though. Hope that helps. :)

Thread: 3D printing, interest in shopping printable products? | Forum: The MarketPlace Wishing Well
It could also be noted that the fact that this competitor has added 3D printing to their licensing is precisely what opens the door for others... since a lot of products here are made for products from that competitor. ;)

I noticed that a competitor store just had a redesign and that they added 3D printing licenses...
I don't use it yet myself, but it will be a good market to get in on early.
Of course, RO would need some people/a person who 'knows' 3D printing to work with artists on this.

Where can I sign? It was possible to fix this for the marketplace so it must not be impossible to fix it for the galleries... at least eventually once there is time
