Thread: Changing computers- license issues? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
jennblake posted at 2:37PM Wed, 13 November 2019 - #4369559
Hello.
You no longer have to un-register/disable your license key. You just need to be sure and download the installer from this information:
We launched a required update to Poser 11.2 for all Poser 11 and Poser 2014 GameDev users.
Below you will find a link to download as well as a link to the article with more details:
Please be sure to download Poser 11.2 from the download link supplied above and install directly from that file. The old Smith Micro download manager will not be able to update your product.
Regards,
JennBlake
Does this mean that there's no longer a limit to how many unique hardware id's your SN is assigned to?
Thread: Where are the Poser 11.2 Release Notes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been asking about any type of updates notes from beta releases to now and the answer seems to be that there are none. Unless I've missed it, not a single thing has been mentioned besides the addition of the Rendo store integration.
If Bondware wants to show off an improved Poser, they're making it one helluva difficult task since we have no idea WTF is being improved. :/

If you've got a 1080ti, you're hurting performance by using a bucket size of 256. Depending on the scene, 10XX cards work a lot better at 512 - 1024.

Is the 'Pro' version the one that comes with Poser 11.2?
No, it's the educational version with no gens. But all the clothing should work with it.
Are there any functional differences between LF 1.1 that was released earlier and this "Pro" version?

It would be very helpful to know what each of these .xxx version differences are.
I agree!
I don't understand why a changelog isn't available for each iteration. Even if it's just one or two small things, let us freaking know...

This thread isn't about which one is better
Neither was my reply. ;)
If using Photoshop wasn't a requirement back in my college days I wouldn't have bought the suite and I would probably be using GIMP right now.

I have CS5 Extended, as far as software goes it's really old now and I'm sure GIMP has surpassed it by now but I paid a lot of money for this suite so I'm sticking with it for as long as I can.

Look, yeh I get it, but I do this as a hobby. If someone from Renderosity wants to stop by the house and spend all the time it is going to take to get up and running again, they are invited over. I think its funny that I can still fire up Poser 3 on an old box and it runs fine.....The program was running fine before....get it? I Paid for the program. What right does anyone have to suspend or stop me from using it? Maybe Ford sells out To GM. Now your car wont run until you contact gm for their approval and a software update, even though You own the car? I paid for the license already, the program was running, get it?
If you want to blame someone, blame SM for adding in the license check not Bondware. They're doing what they can with a stupid decision that they had no control over. Though I'm not sure if they did, but I hope that the phoning home was removed because I've always hated it.
Though it's odd that you compare owning a physical property like a car to buying software since what you're really paying for with software is just a license to use said application. You also agreed to the ToS before installing the initial program, Sm/Bondware can revoke a license if it's in those terms but that's usually if someone broke those ToS.
Just download the new version, use your current PP11 serial and it should work. If it doesn't, contact tech support or post about it in this thread that the new version isn't accepting your SN. If your SN verifies than the installer makes it quick and painless, and when it asks, just tell it to use the existing preferences and most people have had 0 problems getting right back to work in Poser.

I used to do that as well, I also do it in any game that uses Unreal engine since it's a simple bmp. But with those I would just use mspaint for my masterpieces.
Nice one. Hey, do you develop in unreal?
I did back with UE2 and 3. Nothing with UE4 though, and my feelings on Epic have changed greatly over the years.
Let's just say that being associated with Tencent is a major turn off for me.

They added Dawn and Baby Luna on the download page.
If I already have Dawn SE, is this an updated version or the same thing?

Just did the "early adopter" download to 11.2._______. This far, no issues. However, I didnt find the files for Dawn, Dusk, and the additional animals. Not that I'll be using them all that much anyway, but did I miss something? I was thinking about doing some Dusk textures.
From the downloads of last night (I didn't have the chance to check for new files today), they're not there yet. Which is understandable, as it seems like the release date was pushed for later specifically to have those added. We might only see them on the final, public release.
There is stuff there now @ 5:15 pm. A bunch of files under the Common list and one for Windows and Mac. But are the windows files the content I already have with my old install of Poser?
Also the download for Poser is listed at 09-18-2019 12:09 pm, is that the final build or will there be one more for today?

I would like a toggle-able search bar/function in the parameters dial panel. So if I want to look for a certain morph or body part control I can just search for "heavy" or "neck".
